@Talibah said to Paris"I am not going to give you much time here because for me this is the first serious thread-ever on these boards",
A word to the wise dear sis not a wise or clever comment if not the reverse. And other posters who support you require were posting what actually? . No biggie just a political lesson from experience.
@Coltrane LadyDay asked a very pertinent question for me to why these strategies often are not effective and hence my dear sisters Talibah's frustration. That is the ability to explain to people the relevence of the action being proposed in terms of their immediate priorities. I don't think our actions has any significant impact on priorities of most people going about their day to day business. But I understand it and its importance. So that is what needs to be explained to LadyDay I suggest.
Will comment on the letter shortly.

@mafdet
thats what I drafted but it can be amended just like the letter that written when they aired(trouble with blackmen)
I've never done this before thats why I thought a collective action would do

@Coltrane
First you need (in my opinion) to clear it with the Owners of Blacknet that you can mention them and in the manner you have outlined in the draft.
As you are informing me of this issue I have not looked into it myself in depth so there is nothing I can add or remove from the letter to be perfectly honest.....and reading it so far it seems fine to me and you have made valid points. Structuring of the letter I personally feel that someone like Fredblack and Kunjufu (in regards to how their conduct their posts on this forum) could help you on this if they feel it could do with some admendments
@FB and K
Hope you don't mind that suggestion

@Coltrane. Mafdet raised my first observation. I suggest you would open with who we are from the get go. ONce we actually decide that, taking Madet's advise.
Just a turn of phrase.When it says requesting full participation of all sections of society. I would simply say key stake holders and then in brakets outline who I thought they were. But that is only a stylistic issue.

@FB
my initial aim was debt relief and along the way I came across the water privatisation in Ghana which in my view and many in Ghana see it as its being unfair (I hope you read carefully the past notes from the anti-water privatisation organisation in Ghan) and though ok while a long term objective would be direct campaigning on debt relief at the same time this immediate issue of water privatisation can be worked out and by that it mean either Bi water comes up with an amended proposal or pull out all together as its not worth African lives
In that respect I thought where else would it be a better place to get more opinions on how we can go about it if not blacknet village and if you can go though the past threads on the subject I stated by asking on best routes to go through and that included more suggestions from the Moderators, after a while Kunjufu sugested i should draft a letter which I did and posted a link from BIWATERS website where they outlined their CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES which they have turned their back on when it came to Ghana water privatisation.
I blame myself because I didnt do enough research on who owns blacknet and if they would agree on such thing dues to the fact that i expected more from moderators on the subject and if I was on the right track after all its not a one person campaign and wider participation from memebers are welcome and that include BLACKNET owners as its understandable that this is not a charity organisation and I would understand if they are tring to avoid conflict on interests

Coltrane: Again much apologise if it appears that we are neglecting or ignoring you..that is not the case, I'm happy to get involved and I'm happy to sign up to your idea..
however Like i said before I am very very busy, so unfortunately I don't get to read all the post like i used to do before.. and given my involvement in the radio show on mondays..Time is now a factor..
However look I'm prepared to feature your idea on the monday show if you wish and I will do anything I can to support you.. However I'm not able to take the lead on things because i'm personally quite stretched in terms of commitment, but i do think you're idea is a good one so please do not be offended if we don't respond quickly is not intentional ok..
Can I also suggest that you PM your thoughts rather than just posting them here, as i don't always see them in good time..

Coltrane I have to show much love and respect for the way you have conducted your self and our struggle here. When I read your words can see your drive, I can also see your vision, not only the vision for the Motherland but the vision for us living in the West as the KEY to the deliverance for the Motherland.
Many may ask what can I do I dont have enough infomation, how can I help. The answer to this question is very simple,
Let them know that your here, Let them know that you care
We Africans living in the West dont realise the power we have to bring about change to the Motherland. We live and maintain the systems which contol the earths Resorses, Millatary, Money and people, ironically the very system we help maintain stops us making change to our circumstances.
I can hear the people cry, If we can't change our own circumtances how can we bring about change to the Motherland. I though long and hard over this question then it hit me like a spear into my heart.
If am a African then I don't concider my self a Westerner. In order to change my circumstances in the west I have to put my heart and mind whatever I endevour in western life. But If I am a African how can reconcile this. Man can only server one master.
So Coltrain I understand where your at right now and fully support your efforts, in many of my writings in the village I always ask the question where are our leaders, well it looks like we may have found one
Blessed
ielliot

@Coltrane. First point. Perfection or perfecti information is not a precondition for effective action. The idea is sound and we are where we are. What preconceptions you had of what or who could have contributed is history. This is the reality of organising. Sure most of the Mods would like to participate and no doubt will but voluntar activity like this involves plenty juggling and creative leadership.
The action suggested is do able and tangiable and also has many important offspins in being able to assess the capacity organisational and logitcal capacity of a forum like this and its potential.
Often we need to take on pilots or dummy runs or humble task to see what our machinary can do. So the letter is a good idea and why I gave it the thumbs up. People often come up with pie in the sky stuff and have no idea of the basic logistics are in even getting off the ground.
I am going to give the letter another hard read and see if I can come up with anything.
YOU NEED TO IDENTIFY A VERY VERY DEFINITE TIME LINE FOR THIS LETTER TO GO OUT. WHOSE ON BOARD IS ON BOARD, WHO IS ABLE IS ABLE. SIMPLE THINGS.
Mafdet made an excellent idea we need a very clear logistical break down of what is involved, the resource implications and time scales for each discrete piece of action.. I will volunteer to assist with that task.
It would also be helpful to find out from our people on the village who has a project management package and knows how to use it. I have but man choc of block of stuff I am coordinating and responsible for.
Might have to create a seperate stand alone thread so people can zoom in. Often people are not topic or issue focused, but are skills or technically focused. In fact our white brother Nick who seems a genuine and extremely helpful soul could also be approached.
Feel free to PM me on anything and I will get back to you within 24 hours the latest.
