A letter from the local police was attached to our local school's newsletter highlighting a potential downside to buying one of the above.
"You may not be aware that the new picture messaging/video phones have easy access to the Internet. As a result of this, inappropriate material is being downloaded onto them and sent to other phones. You may already be supervising the use of the Internet at home on the computer, but will find it difficult to supervise the use of the Internet on the mobile phone. We would suggest you regularly monitor the data being stored on the equipment. If you contact your service provider you will be able to restrict the use of this facility should you need to do so."
Apparently there is also a site to register the IMEI number, http://www.menduk.org.
