I'm doing some independent research on cultural diversity in public service broadcasting - on and behind the camera. Would love to hear from anyone who has been involved in programme-making and also what Blacknet members think of any recent programmes. Are characters and storylines in tv drama authentic? What works and what doesn't? What do you enjoy watching with family? What do you enjoy watching with friends? What's missing? What would you like to see more of?

Jog my memory of TV viewing that involves content that would be of interest to a black British viewer or involve black characters/issues?
Things that spring to mind are the black family in Eastenders, the England v Spain football match where the black players were subjected to racist abuse and the New Year shooting trial of the girls that got shot in B'ham and the Puma story. A common factor is that none of this is uplifting our black race.
Maybe us TV licence payers should band together and get a list of what we would like to see on our screens?

Oh no Miss mention we had lots of good black TV this year.
We had the excellent "trouble with black men" Which blamed everything bad in society on us...
And the fabulous "who you calling a N****r?" which highlighted racial tensions.
Brilliant!!
