Would you like to run your own business?

Have you ever thought of learning an African language?

Do you not think that we as people of African origin should have some form of African identity or linkage to Africa?

Have you seriously considered what kind of career you would like to embark upon when you leave full-time education?

Would you like some assistance in formulating a clearer idea of your career prospects?

Insaka movement for Africanisation will be running a series of projects (which we have entitled the Nia program), from November. There will be two main programs and a series of seminars;

1. The Ujamaa program- this scheme is run under young enterprise, it is a company program where young people from the ages of 15-19, can set and run there own business throughout the course of the academic year.

2. The Sankofa program- (open to all ages) African language classes, specifically Swahili language classes aimed at developing our cultural link with Africa in a definite and permanent way. Swahili is a very interesting and important language for us, firstly it is the most widely spoken African language on the continent and secondly Swahili is already very popular amongst Africans in the Diaspora.

3. The Ujima program- a series of seminars, talks and workshops aimed at addressing any problems of career development for young people.

If any of this seems interesting to you do you hesitate to contact us:

Tel: 07782 143 573 or E-mail: insaka_mfa@yahoo.co.uk

Insaka movement for Africanisation is an African organisation which has been recently set up to work with young people in the African community, by ‘African’ we mean African, African-Caribbean, African-British etc, basically we are referring to all people of African descent regardless of their nationality. Don’t be scared off by the name either, ‘Africanisation’ is simply a process or strategy whereby we can begin to identify ourselves as more than just a skin colour, but by our history, origin, culture, past, present and future.

Peace
