Black People's response to the exploiting colonial european school system that shows us no respect. We have innitiated a boycott the counter this act, so for Africans / Blacks who dont know about this situation, now you do. Lets do it for real, in da name of Malcolm X, Nkrumah, Lamumba, Marcus Garvey, Pac Shakur, Omali Yeshytela, Lauryn Hill, the Mau Maus, Winnie Mandela, and many more that put their efforts to make our situations better, and even more ourselves.
This boycott resides in New York and Londond, and in London on the day of this BIG BOYCOTT there would also be a PICKET outside the DfES which is in VICOTRIA, I havent got all the details yet but I shall keep you updated. Also on the Picket there would be performances from Mama Sol, Speech, Kamakaze Records / MFD, N.A.T. (myself) and more.
For a full spectrum and understanding of the necessities of the boycott you can read below an article I was writing for my website which should broaden your understanding of the need for this. It is not finished completely so its not even on the site yet, it hasnt even had a gramma check yet. But for this post is should do.
((((Also if you want more direct information on the organisations involved with this and how to participate, or even speak at the picket use these contact details, 020 8265 1731, or uhuruasi@aol.com ))))))

This might just be the biggest political action to date yet. Not at anytime in history has the black community organised a boycott of anything, but it seems that the colonial school system has reached it's limits and black people across U.K. have taken this opportunity to organise a boycott under the leadership of those in the UHURU Movement. The first question that comes to mind is...'What is the point of a boycott regardless if the schools are failing us?' Other questions are 'Is it worth our time?' But before the true essense of that is broken down, I think it would be vital to break down to individuals why at present we claim it is not our young Africans that are failure's in the system but the systematic cirriculum of the colonial schools is that which fails our needs. On the flyer that pushes the necessity for a boycott that we happily managed to get a hold off, some mind blowing facts were giving. Facts that each and every black woman and man should know off the top of their heads from the second they see it. They read below.
Black children enter schools 20 points above the average but by age 15 attain 21 points below the average.
70% of black children fail to pass 5 GCSE at A-C. In some areas it's a 93% failure rate.
8% of London's teacher's are black compared to 20% of students.
The exclusion rate for black children is 4 times that of white children.
Governments have continued to fail our African children for more than 40 years.
Another fact that was provided for black heads who refuse to acknowledge truth unless a cracka spits it was "We have to change the culture within schools where black children are expected to fail, and there needs to be an acknowledgement that the education system in this country has failed to provide an education for the black children!" This was a statement made by the mayor Ken Livingston on the May 2003 London Schools and the black child conference. When discussed into detail we would also discover how the education system is one of the state's most powerful tool towards the downfall of ourselves. From miseducation and exclusion within schools leads to no qualifications. No qualifications lead to less opportunities of jobs, less opportunity of jobs leads to a poor N****r, lots of poor N****rz leads to poverty, poverty leads to crime and crime is an excuse for police to terroriseimprison and brutalise our people without solving the problem from the root of the cause. Not to mention, imprisonment leads to prisoners working for free inorder to build white nations and economies as slaves. But I had to give that break down so we are all clear on the importance of education within our communities in relation to our communities most current problems, and even when our boys do get through their colonial education system with flying colours they are not even taught how to caters for themselves and their people they are trained on how to become good workers for Europan comapnies and industries. So the question is how would the BIG BOYCOTT bring anything positive to the black community? How does a one day boycott lead to success in our lifestyles? We have to acknowledge that in terms of political life black people have been cut off from political understanding, the palestinians, Arabs, Jews, Chinese, Indians and all sort all have their political bases in which defend their people and their material needs, we have that to with the UHURU movement, the only problem is that the majority of Africans are not aware of the importance of this organisation and how it relates to the regular day to day activities. And because of the lack of political actions within the ourselves, all sort of races with power exploit our political weakness in many forms, by racial discrimination, economic depriviation, media degradation and many more. Having the BIG BOYCOTT bring attention to the failure of the schools that could be used as an effective tool in educating our children for our benefit and not for some crackas business. A BOYCOTT of the colonial school system with a picket outside the DfES allows us to pressurise the colonial school system, that depend on the work of the people to say no more and increasing the ressistance to this nonsense by organising our efforts to work for the benefit of us. Our strict demands and objectives from the BIGBOYCOTT that we have all come to a conclusion to put to the colonial system is
Community control of schools
More resources and staffing in schools
A democratic curriculum with true black history
More black teachers to teach black children
An end to the exclusion of the black children
Smaller class sizes for better quality education
As you can see the work would doesn't finish with The BIG BOYCOTT. After The Big Boycott, the majority of the concerned blacks who instigated The Big Boycott, will come together alongside more Africans who dicide to join the freedom movement to make sure these demands and objectives are reached. Not only that but there has been rumours on the underground that from The Big Boycott, the UHURU Movement would be launching free literacy and numeric classes for blacks who have been neglected or have neglected the European curriculum of education. Who knows what this would lead to, theRE is no doubt The Big Boycott would be successful as the UHURU Movements membership have gone out to do work in recieving a high number of signatures for the petition of boycotting the colonial education system. Nevetheless, the outcome of this boycott and it's results depends on your desicion to be a part of the regular meetings that instigate these objectives and brings your percetion and directions to what you believe needs to be done and how it can be done, as well as you effort to make even more successful. It is also said there would be a protest / picket outside the DfES in Victoria / London is support of THE BIG BOYCOTT. There would also be performances from myself, Mama Sol, KamaKaze/MFD and many more. We would keep you updated when we have the full details on that. Be a part of it, start by spreading the word to anyone you know who doesn't know. Tell them to avoid school on the 19th of Ocotber, copy and paste this around or forward email it to someone you know. And make use of the contacts below if you want more information. Thanks to the UHURU movement and it's members for bringing this, now let the rest of us make THE BIG BOYCOTT, THE BIGGEST BOYCOTT!! Don't forget where you heard it first, right here on SunShineKid.com, register for updated information straight in your mail box.

Oops, just looking over my article, my bad for saying a boycott hasnt been organised by Africans, I meant in the U.K.
Anyway, one love to shortMAN for joining the band of artists ready to rock at the boycott outside the DfES in Voctoria!
Also peace to those that got back through emails, I havent made it clear in this draft of the article, but this is something in London and New York. Nevertheless if you wanna hold it down where ever you from and gather a few peeps to participate on boycotting the school you could do that and also maybe organise them within a gathering. Whether it be a picket or at your mums house, its all good, cus it's a yearly thing from today onwards.
