An observance of pride and belonging will be the earmarks of these family events. Bring your children to learn about their history - their ancestors’ struggles and determination to achieve freedom, learn from their successes and failures, their ingenuity, their love and loss, their humanity, christianity, and eventually their emancipation.

Emancipation Day is here to Celebrate our History and to Promote our Future.

Therefore, please see the attached appeal on the vision to gain your support for a British-Caribbean Emancipation Night and Day Memorial Celebration each year and to have this special occasion in Caribbean and British heritage, recognised as Emancipation Day, on the United Kingdom Calendar.

As many of you know PurehArt is a British Voluntary Heritage Education organisation and appreciates all Donations. For without support from individuals and organisations, it would not be possible to research, promote and hold such historical events! Hence if you would like to sponsor the refreshments and the BCED, (£440), please do Eml: purehArt@easynet.co.uk

Thank you for taking the time to read our proclamation and I do hope you will feel able to support us in some way at the forthcoming yearly events.

Special thanks
