The Long awaited fundraising event is now here for all to enjoy. Hearts to Africa have teamed up with Kindred Spirit for this special gathering to raise as much funds as possible on the day to help support families and institutions in The Gambia, West Africa.
Hearts to africa is very much a 'hands on' charity. We are community funded and really do what we say we do on the tin. We advertise the need for clothes, educational equipment, medical equipment, toys, shoes, food, kitchen utensils and the like, and once we get word that 'you' the people have these items, we head down to where you're at with a big van, load up bound for the storage depot. once we get all of the 'gifts' to the storage, we arrange for a team to sort through the items, bag & barrel them accordingly. Then they are shipped.
The container cost are a staggering £2,000 and this is paid for out of the money raised that particular year. The deficit is paid for out of members pockets. We then pay for our own flight and accomodation and travel to The Gambia ready for a fun, hard working week [or two] of distribuation. Hands On!. All items that you kindly donate reach the people directly. And if you wish to see this to believe this, then the choice is yours and the opportunity is open to all to be a traveller along with the Hearts to Africa team. The fundraising event allows you to meet previous travellers and relax within a chilled out environment, listen to poetry and song complimented by the live kindred spirit band and maybe win one of the many prizes from the raffle if your feeling lucky...

Please arrive early to get a chance to mingle and network plus for the chance to purchase artist merchandise and jewelry & wood carvings from The Gambia.
Dj's on the night...Danny & Luke playing all the tunes you like for this very special occassion.
We have a very special prize givaway on the night. A very sentimental item. An item with strong ties and links with our ancestors. The item is a piece of rock from the very walls used to cage slaves who awaited the journey to the new world. We do not celebrate the fact that our African brothers and sisters were enslaved, but we do remember them and honour them. The rock from Fort James Island will be presented in a glass case and will be a very special item for those who never intend to forget that what happened to 400 million African brothers and sisters not so very long ago. A £1 raffle ticket gives you the chance of winning...
