I am a little lost trying to find pictures of the keynote speaker as this year's ALD London event.
Is this him?

Or am I up the wrong tree?

I wouldnt knock him too hard. I have read his book. The slaves who abolished slavery. Good reading for anyone interested in the history of the Maroon wars and rebellion in Jamaica in particular. With the Africans as central figures. A bloody good read in fact.
His background is white Jamaican.

We need to do things that are in Our own interests for Ourselves, inspite of the obstacles that sometimes prevent us. It is not in anyone elses interest to 'help' Us other than to promote themselves and for Us to be dependent, hating Ourselves, each other and wanting to be other than who We are.
Remember, what Marcus Garvey said,
'A RACE WITHITHOUT POWER & AUTHORITY IS A RACE WITHOUT RESPECT'

| Judging by the above responses, regarding race, I take it that unlike our American cousins we don't really buy into the 'One Drop Rule'? I went to his talk at ALD on Saturday and he identified himself as 'mixed' rather than 'white' and I have a lot of respect for him in his efforts to rectify the some of the myths fabricated by the British with regards the eradication of slavery.
