The site must have just been taken down, because I looked at it this weekend. Found a myspace link on Google:

lol....no, there was a fight at the end of yesterday, so the police/authorities said they will not allow it to go on today, but (in true Naija style), the organisers pushed to have it, it went ahead today, but they only had permission to continue until four.

I dont think I saw 45,000 people, but then I left early.....lol

Both yesterday and today were very peaceful except for the fight, which I didn't see....even the police men were saying that it was actually very peaceful all in all...........they must have let some of those Jammos in by accident......lol.....just kidding ....lol....:P

I hope it grows year by year, it was actually okay and the food was delicious!!!!

I was there yesterday people. I was there from  11.30am -6.45pm.

BARE FINNNNNNNNNE GIRLS. Nice food, good music. however some of the girls did go a bit too far, (they might as well of been naked).

However their were a few problems.

1. It didn't start until 1.30pm

2. there was a big fighting incident amongst certain youths at about 6.10pm. All I saw was a young man on the floor getting rushed by plenty of people, people started fleeing both ways, the police then tried to chase the boys. This happend twice, (far from the stage).

It was amongst the same group of youths to my knowledge. The Carnival was going smoothly until this happened. It wasn't a hardcore fight though, as in there weren't any guns, or knives.

I personally do not think the incident was enough to cancel the carnival. The only other thing I was not happy about was that their was no book stall. I would of loved to have purchased some books on the history of Igboland, Hausaland, and Yorubaland.

I bumped into a female friend o f mine their as well. It was an good event .

ARE YOU SURE IT WAS CANCELLED

Judge J.....the second day was actually better in my opinion, especially the traditional dancing and the general organisation, but it ended just as people began to arrive.......so I guess we'll have to see next year.

@all I went yesterday (sunday) and got there about 4.30pm  they were packing up the music already - vex, I was ready to party. confused2

However, the vibe was pretty cool, so we hijacked some chairs and had a drink and food fest. We later learnt that the Saturday event was spoilt by some fools fighting which almost cancelled out the Sunday event - it made sense why the music was packed away early - apparently to disperse the crowd; but this didn't happen.  Was going to go to the after party but decided against that in the end.  Did any one go the the after party?

I thought it was really cool that the young ones wore white and green, not sure if they were perforning or something.

All in all I had a really decent time. Thanks for letting us know about the event Judge J. niceone.gif
