Concept;
The theme of the 10th Anniversary of The SAA is founded upon the exhortation of the Most Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey to all Afrikan people, world over. These words are still as much relevant today as they were back in the 1920s. If the Afrikan Nation is to successfully confront White Supre
macy it is imperative that it unites and organizes, as the only alternative open to it is to perish. Further, Neely Fuller Jr. observed as follows, regarding White Supremacy:
“If you do not understand White Supremacy (Racism) -----what it is, and how it works-----everything else that you understand, will only confuse you.
Aims and Sub-Themes
Besides being an overview of the work of The SAA since its inception, the 10th Anniversary will seek to evaluate Africa's position since the day of Liberation from physical slavery to the end of this century and further seek to contextualize the impact of racism and how the Afrikan Nation can successfully confront it. The evaluation shall seek to address such topics as:
- Afrikan Nation vs White Supremacy
- Which Way Afrika?
- Arts and Awareness
- Awareness Raising – Formal and Informal (Setting Up Afrikan Centred Schools and Curriculum)
- Agriculture and Health
- People Power
- Reparations and Repatriation
- Students and Youth
- Trade – Afrika and the Diaspora
- Afrikan Spirituality and Culture
- Global Afrikan Awareness
- Gender Awareness
NB: The areas outlined above are not exhaustive or mutually exclusive; they only serve to provide a guide/focus for Abstracts and Papers to be submitted.
150 word Abstracts should be submitted no later than the date below. Each abstract is to be accompanied by a colour passport size photo and a resume. Deadline for final Papers is: February 15, 2006

Funding:
The SAA, as an institution, believes in self-help for self-reliance and will endeavor to get funds mainly from those people who identify with the cause. Funding will only be accepted where there are no strings attached. Supporters should genuinely seek to advance the Afrikan Awareness cause and the full and true emancipation and liberation of Afrika and its people. For details on how to assist with funding please contact us at any one of the addresses below.
Activities to be Undertaken:
It is intended that the 10th Anniversary shall constitute different activities, inter alia the following:
Book Launch
African authors will be encouraged to present their books for launching and signing. Preference will be given to those books related to the theme of the Anniversary.
Colloquium
The colloquium will serve the purpose of discussing and addressing topics in keeping with the theme and sub-themes.
March
The idea behind the march is to express and display the oneness of the Afrikan Nation. It will culminate at a venue where there will be various speeches to mark the day and the solidarity and cooperation of Afrikan people worldwide.
Live Performances
One of the avenues by which to bring Afrikan people together is that of performing arts. Through various inter-cultural performances we get to appreciate the similarities of each other's culture as we also get to exchange and enhance our cultural identities.
Art Exhibitions
The significance of exhibitions will be two-fold, that is to educate our people and to promote the works of Afrikan artists.
Film Festival
As a means by which to further educate and promote Afrikan people there will be a film festival, to run for the duration of the convention. Not only will the film festival seek to educate but it will also be a means by which to promote Afrikan film producers.
Bazaar
The major aspect behind the bazaar will be to promote African artists and their artistic creativity and also to create a commercial market for the artists.
