Register as blood donor, and when you go to donate blood you can also request they take a sample for Bone marrow or ring the Anthony Nolan help line and register your interest, they will then send you a sample kit which you can take to your GP who will in turn take blood and send it of to the lab. I registered a long time a go and the process even then didn't take very long.
Black people also need to stop being scared of giving blood, it is actually very good for you, especially if you suffer from migraines, trust me i have a needle phobia but i still give blood and really no biggie and the whole process takes less than 15 minutes.
