A man has been recently arrested and found with indecent DVDs of little boys. Apparently the Caucasian man has been operating and abusing young boys in Ghana.

This was a shock to me as i thought this sort of thing had not infected our communities. However after doing a little more digging i find this may not be the case.

Broadcast on an Australian Radio Stn. : In the West African nation of Ghana poverty is driving a growing number of children onto the streets to live.

Without money or a job most of those children are eventually forced into prostitution.

That influx of desperate children is earning Ghana a reputation on paedophile websites as a safe destination for child sex.

Child protection groups worry that the country could become the next Thailand.

Is this true or just a few isolated cases?

A man described as Britain's worst sex tourist has been sentenced to a minimum of six years for preying on poor children in Africa.

Paedophile jailed in first use of laws to combat sex tourism By Michael Horsnell

A DEPRAVED hobby shop assistant was jailed yesterday after becoming the first British sex tourist to be brought to justice under new laws designed to catch paedophiles operating abroad.

Alexander Kilpatrick, 56, a “dangerous, devious and predatory monster, filmed himself abusing young boys in Africa and Britain in a specially converted van, complete with mattress and high-tech video equipment. He was caught with more than 5,000 “harrowing child pornography pictures and homemade snaps and videos, to some of which he had added a soundtrack of love songs. Judge Roger Chapple, who rebuked him for a “catalogue of manipulation, corruption, depravity and degradation, said that the minimum term Kilpatrick must serve is six years.

NI_MPU('middle');
Kilpatrick was banned from working with children, being in the company of anyone under 16 or travelling to Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, Goa or Costa Rica. He will sign on the sex offenders register for life.
Peter Zinner, prosecuting, earlier told Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court in London that Kilpatrick was the first person to be targeted by police under the 2003 Sex Offences Act. “That is the so-called long arm of sex tourism provision, allowing the authorities to reach out across the world to bring to justice those British citizens who sexually abuse children in other jurisdictions, he said.
Kilpatrick, a father of two who has been disowned by his family, repeatedly visited Africa to prey on poverty-stricken children but also used his mobile home to tour England looking for other vulnerable youngsters. He often filmed his depravity, transferring pictures to CD-Rom before spending hours editing them, setting them to music, and labelling them with his victims’ names.
One 12-year-old who he groomed in Britain with alcohol, gifts and porn after the boy’s father died, spent several weeks waiting to see if he had contracted HIV. The tests were clear. The court was told that another youngster Kilpatrick targeted with drink ended up so intoxicated and ill that he escaped the sexual ordeal intended for him.
The divorcee’s perversion was ended last May when a French holidaymaker spotted him handing out toys during his third trip to Ghana.
He was held by Customs officers at Heathrow airport on his return and had with him a computer and 60 CD-Roms containing indecent images and videos of children as well as those of himself.
Indecent films and photographs, some downloaded from the internet, were recovered from his mobile home, which at that time was parked in a residential road in Milton Keynes.
Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to a total of 17 counts between October 1, 2004 and May 8 last year involving children in Africa and Britain. They include three rapes, three attempted rapes, two assaults, one assault by penetration, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, administering a substance with intent, taking indecent photographs of children, possessing them, and importing porn. Many were specimen charges.
Mr Zinner said: “His choice of victims and methods were well thought out to ensure a minimum risk of detection.
He said that two identified victims in Ghana were prime examples. “They were residing in a remote village and were particularly vulnerable.
Furthermore, the area they came from was one where many lived in “abject poverty. Using his “significant economic power, Kilpatrick set about grooming his victims, buying them meals, and in some cases giving them alcohol.
“They experienced serious sexual abuse, including attempted anal rape, the court was told.
Mr Zinner said that the boys fell into Kilpatrick’s clutches after he visited one of his sons, a “highly respected voluntary worker who was carrying out humanitarian work in the south of the country with local people.

Unfortunately this is not just an isolated case.....the Gambia and Senegale are perhaps the better known destination (in the media) and the most talked about countries in regards to sex tourists. I guess this is the price some African countries are paying in trying to appear peacefull and prosperous when in reality their people are getting poorer as they open their markets to foreigners.......and this kinds of evil acts are what those evil Europeans bring with them.

But what pisses me even more is the fact that this man only got 5 years.....yet, if i remember correctly, the law changed a few years ago that anyone convicted of having sex with a minor will receive life......yet, this man receives only a laughing 5 years? idiots

Definitely has been happening for a while and not isolated to Ghana.  A few years back the Ethiopian government changed the law to minimum 15 years imprisonment to anyone caught with under age kids.  With OAU and United nations offices being there it was bringing a lot of sickos to the country and becoming a big problem.  Not sure if it has helped but it sure was widely reported and convicted pedos (Europeans) were paraded on telly.  I hear it’s now illegal for a grown man to go into a hotel room with a child unless he can prove they are related or something like that.
