Recently a young Black man by the name of (unarmed) Azel Johnson, 24 was gunned down by police in Edgeware. Since it's happened it's been kept very quiet.

The very same place I live and I still aint found no information round this shyt. I ask peoples round but the only info I got was one of my boys who described how it happened. He said the police man climbed ontop of the car and shot the brother through the window screen!

Hypothetically: don't you think that an element of personal responsibilty exists, meaning that if you walk around the streets of London with a gun, then don't be suprised if you end up being shot by the authorities...

I think you answered your own question LoveDaddy. This is the whole point. There ain't no information so how can anybody make a judgement until the facts are clear.
Right now i feel it is very relevant to ask the question why ain't certain people sayin' S**t... especially people holding the positions as stated by MarcusGarveyLives, most notably...

On a personal note... i don't have any sympathy with anyone walking the streets strapped. If you wanna play gangsta, and end up dead, i ain't crying no tear for yu... SIMPLE TINGS..
but, in this case, that fact is yet to be established and we need issues like this to recieve the proper media coverage and attention (at all times). And we should also demand that individuals and establishments that set themselves up as the voice of the people, should have somethin' to say at these times.
Look on it this way.. if a POLICEMAN was shot by a brotha, yu know dat is national front page news for the next 6 weeks.

'So wrong': Susan Alexander (right) and her sister Jennie want the Metropolitan Police to suspend the officer who shot and killed her son, Azelle Rodney, during a police operation in April

The mother of a 24-year-old man shot dead in a police operation have called for the officer involved to be suspended from duty.
Azelle Rodney was shot at point-blank range in a car outside the Railway Tavern pub, in Hale Lane, on April 12, as police believed he was carrying a gun.
Mother Susan Alexander believes the case bears similarities to that of Jean Charles de Menezes, who was killed by armed police at Stockwell Tube station on July 22 after they suspected him of being a suicide bomber.
"I know Azelle, and I know he was no angel," said Mrs Alexander. "He hung around with some people that perhaps he shouldn't have.
"But I also know that he would never threaten someone with a gun. He would never have a gun in his hand.
"He was two weeks from having a baby. He was looking forward to starting a family."
Police had followed the silver Volkswagen Golf, in which Mr Rodney was a passenger, in a pre-planned operation because the trio inside were suspected of being on their way to commit a crime.
The two others in the car, Wesley Lovell, 26, and Frank Graham, 23, are both due to appear in court in September on charges of being in possession of a firearm.
"I believe he was just a passenger in that car," said Mrs Alexander. "The police should not have the right to do that. It's just so wrong. That's my son's life they took."
Mr Rodney died at the scene, and his daughter was born the day before his funeral. His aunt Jennie Alexander said: "Why couldn't they just arrest him? I don't think they can warrant what they did. Now there is a daughter with no father to look after her."
Susan Alexander has written to the Metropolitan Police asking that the officer who shot her son be suspended from duty.
But the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation into Mr Rodney's death is unlikely to be resolved until charges against Lovell and Graham have been heard.
"I can't allow myself to grieve, I haven't had time to grieve," said Susan."If I stop for a second I will break down or crumble."
An IPCC spokesperson said a thorough investigation was ongoing and would be resolved in due course.

Whilst I sometimes feel sorry for the families when some of these things occur, you do have to say that if you ramp with people carrying guns as friends, don't be suprised if you get 'accidently' mixed up with the results...
In terms of similarities with Charles de Menenzes, I disagree, as that poor man had nothing to do with badness, carried no arms or associated with criminals.
This man in Edgware differs in that he associated with bad people who had firearms, and does not himself have an unblemished record; not that this excuses an execution by the authorities, but it diminishes the amount of sympathy I have for this case...

i've held back long enough from responding to this... i believe, i am sure i can make a positive identification, i saw these young men, including the man who got murdered, just a day before the tragedy. i even briefly interacted with one of the men who came up to me and "exchanged a few words".
i was standing outside Selfridges, off edgeware road (Oxford street), when blacks in a rangerover SUV, a little golf (fits descripotion of victims's car by colour), and a bentley, parked by. i noticed that, like me, they were being observed, monitored.
they left shortly after, but not before i noticed they were well loaded (funds), i mean not driving around with expensive cars but no money in their pockets.
the shooting gave me the impression it was power play. the police and media were intent on showing who was boss, irrespective of what was happening in the election campaign, irrespoective of whether the boy had a gun on him or posed a danger to the public. they took the guy out for that reason, but then i think there was another reason much closer to what we are used to as blacks.
sad that we live in such a mileau. but then this possibility is always present if you know we live in the belly of the beast, right in the midst of where the worst of human ugliness is both so visible and hidden.
no need looking to the present group (idiots) of black leaders to request info or retribution/justice. the Man has been so busy making sure no real African leader comes up he has succeeded in placing the most foolish of our people in leading positions. if you do not belive me then just ask yourself why our representation in politics or the media is limited to females and male gays. why is the man afraid of conscious African males? he does not have what it takes.
condolences and thought go out to the family of the victim... i believe the death of the brother was not in vain.
