media player isn't the easiest tool for this, you probably need to download the plug-ins to burn MP3 to CD..Have you tried opening the folder with the MP3s & sening \ dragging the contents directly to the CD writer's folder ?
To be perfectly honest though, I avoid Windows Media altogether, you have to download certain plug-ins to even compile MP3 or WMA files, try downloading any free CD-burning software instead ( try http://free-cd-burning.tripod.com/), otherwise consider Nero or Roxio
