I bought one yesterday though its a bit late but I bought its at a reasonable price(I think so) well after getting strange looks on LU with my discman:(

now I 've gone though the itine website and seems they still want me to spend more money to buy tunes at 70p per song..and deep down I know this is unfair afterall I already have limewire with a huge music catalogue

now my questions are:

1) can I use it to store data?

2) where can I buy those car & house plugs at cheap prices?

3)how can I transfer my limewire tracks to ipod?

4)tell me anything else  that I need to be aware of if necessary

1) can I use it to store data?  - Theoretically you can, but if you are not a techie, I will advice you not to.

2) where can I buy those car & house plugs at cheap prices? - Ebay is probably your bit, to get good price.

3)how can I transfer my limewire tracks to ipod? -Don't know

4)tell me anything else  that I need to be aware of if necessary -Nothing new only

you can transfer the music from your cd albums to your ipod, so no need to be buying songs for 70p,

*wink wink*

have you heard of kazaa lite, download any single you want free

 U really don't read the instructions do u lol

The best way to this is create a new playlist on your itune,

put the songs you want in that list

Click on file, and update songs to ipod, voilaniceone.gif

That shouldn't cause that much grief hopefully

I couldn't agree with you more, its more like a fashion statement.

I remember I could not wait to get one, and after I got it I thought is this what all the fuss is about.

Steve Jobs is a laid back version of Bill gates, which is why Apple ain't the force it should have been when Microsoft took control.....

There's a new Mini Ipod on the horizon, (http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/) as well as a mini Apple PC ( £349.00 - £400.00 for a tiny base unit that excludes a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc http://www.apple.com/macmini/)

Basically, Apple glamorise inferior products & sell them on as essential,over-priced luxury products (a bit like ring tones)

This is written presuming you still have your ipod and are still a bit stuck, so apologies if you've already figured it out. Or sold it.

To transfer tracks from limewire to your ipod, open itunes, click on "file" -> "add folder to library" and select your limewire shared folder. This will copy all the songs on your itunes library. To add CDs to your ipod, you can either use itunes to rip the songs directly or, you can use Easy CD Creator or Nero to rip the tracks, then you can add the files as you would your limewire shared folder.

To get your ipod to automatically update itself with the songs in your library (for example if you add or delete tracks, or rename files etc...) sync up your ipod, click on "edit" -> "preferences", elecet the "ipod" tab and select the "automatically update all songs and playlists" option.

You can't really create folders in itunes except playlists. If you want to sort out music by genre, artist, album, year, then you'll need to right-click on the song (or on a selected group of songs), select "get info" and click on the "info" tab. Edit to your heart's content!

eBay for the accessories, or if you really like your new toy, the Apple shop in Regent Street!!!

As you can probably tell, I have one. It ain't all that bad!

The iPod is ok, but for the amount of money and the amount of hype it gets its waaay over-rated. Battery life sucks totally, the itunes business is crap(i'd rather have it show up as a removable drive) and the whole file protection sh*t is crazy. Thank God I didn't get an iPod, because I researched well b4 i chose my mp3 player. And also no remote so u need to take ur ipod outa ur pocket all the time.

if it doesn't come with one, you can buy one. eBay once again (or the Apple store) But the whole idea of the iPod is for people to play with the wheel-thing. So cool! All you can do with the remote is incr/decr volume and change tracks and pause anyway, so it's not so essential!

Lol, I admit the wheel thing is quite cool...but the rmote should be able to control ALL functions, my mp3 player's remote does...its awesome!
