i have only after almost 1yr and a half realised my pc software needs a little updating. it came with works 6 and word 2002.
now i have been looking at the microsoft office 2003 and the upgrade of works to office 2003 would cost £89 or 120 if just not an upgrade. i have sp2 on my pc and just wandering what my tech savvy peeps thinks is best . should i get a pirate or legit copy. i dont mind copies but for certain apllication i do prefer the real deal depending on implications for my pc

Hmmm. Asked me a year or two ago I would have said pirate. But all these activation things have started popping up and I am starting to think Microsoft knows exactly whos got a pirate copy of their software, stuff like windows update and other stuff must be telling them whos got what.
That freaks me out, and I might even consider buying XP when I upgrade to it soon. That will be a definite first for me.
Although saying that I don't see any reason why there is any risk by using pirated software, just the fact that you are probably being watched.
Anyway bad day to ask me, I have had one of those stressful days where nothing works and I can't seem to fix any problems at work. I feel like I want to abandon computers at the moment and go and live far away from technology in a tree house or something!!!!

mmm looks like i need to get saving. after sp2 my nero stopped working it wasnt legit but now i got demo for now... but yeah will need to save ouch i may just update my memory at the same time and stop dragging my feet

Obviously you should PAY for your software and not commit illegal acts of downloading pirated software.
I think its disgusting that there are so many cracks and serials for the programme in question available if you was for example to type microsoft office 2003 into the search bar on internet sites such as http://www.andr.net/search.php
