my xp fireqwall seems to be disabling itself alot. now the default dialler wont enable.
whats going on
i have adware se the definitions file is up to date and so is the spybot is up to date ran them and nothing found

LadyDay, are you using a third party software firewall. e.g Norton's firewall, agnitum firewall, Zonealarm etc? If not, I would strongly suggest that you do so asap. Personally I don't trust the windows firewall itself.
Can I also ask whether you have installed the SP2 update for windows XP?

hey well the win firewall is back on. and no i dont depend on it. i am using zone alarms firewall and norton anti-virus i also use spyware gaurd spybot s&d and adware se
no i havent installed sp2 yet. will it help? my friend is putting it on a disc for me as i dont get my broadband installed untill next week

Can I ask whether you have run an anti virus check on your pc?
If that is fine, what I would check is the number that you use to connect to the internet. Make sure that is the same number from your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
With SP2, I personally wouldn't install that yet. I have heard of problems involving SP2 and other third party software. For more info see here http://www.winnetmag.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/43798/Windows_43798.html
