Yep...If you don't know, Kazaa Lite is being phased out and the irony is that
the people who made it are whinging about copyright. They want people to
pay for its new equivalent, which doesn't have crazy pop-ups and add-ons!
The free one they give away, just murders my PC with Ads and crap I dn't need,
so I got a couple tunes, then dashed-way that sh*te freeware version!
I still have Kazaa Lite on my Windows2000 PC and it works fine, but it just
sits there when I run it on XP. Any solutions?...Or alternatives.
I'm askin cos the Windows2000 PC is using a 56k slo'dem, but I ain't
about to eff with it by putting AOL Broadband on it - see previous post!!!!
I need my Free MP3s man!!!!

failing that just pm me with an email addy and ill hook you up with all progs

Guys, just a heads up. The UK has announced it will start to follow the US in sueing file sharers.
Initially they will only be going after the big sharers with gigs of MP3's being shared, but remember big brother is watching, so it might be a good idea to not share any files.

You guys should try LimeWire. It's much better than Kazaalite. Does all the same things if not more than Kazaalite. Downloads are pretty fast even with a slow connection speed.
Try LimeWire.

One more thing. When and If you do get the program try changing the port number in the 'Advanced' tab of the options menu. Port number 8192 seems to be the best, this will accelerate the downloads. You can change the number to what works best for your computer.

I have Kazaa Lite K++ (I believe thats the most recent version). It still works for me, although selecting an available user to download from seems to take too long compared to Kazaa. It seems to allow downloading only from other Kazza Lite users although searching for a file is fine. There
Limewire is ok but you dont always find what you want. Soulseek is better IMO.

I have the free version. 4.0.7 I don't know much about your installation problem. I think you may have to be online while you instal the program. Try that, If it doesn't work then....ummm maybe you should try.... Just try that first I'll look into the problem for you bruh.
P.S.
Oh yeah make sure you uninstall the previous program that you were using for file sharing.

The only thing I was told about your problem was that it may be a firewall or a password lock that prevents you from downloading the program. I don't know, but that's what they told me.

I just downloaded the Soulseek program and I am experiencing the same problem as obal. The numbers on the side of the transfer box...what do they mean and what should they be set for? Max D/L and Max D/L KBPS. What figures should be in this area?

all this file sharing softwares are headaches. they all come with the spyware one way or another. but limewire sure is ok but still has the spyware.

Sorry peeps I slept on this thread for a little while
leave the setting for max d/l ect ect at zero the just use the search file menu and a list of the files should come up of whetever you inputted. then right click on the file and either choose download file or you may want to "download folder" if you are taking a complete album ect ect

If you do get 'ABC', try going to this website http://www.suprnova.org. You will quite a few albums there. If ya not sure, pm me and I will try to assist.

Its a direct link to the download location. I have been checking it out for the last couple of days. Its really great. It will connect to the G1, G2, E-Donkey and Bit-Torrent networks all at the same time and download parts of the same file from each network.
The other really cool feature, is that you can control it via it web page, so you can download stuff at home while you are at work, ready for when you get home.

If you want spyware/adware free filesharing you cant go far wrong with these programs:
BitTorrent or BitTornado
Shareaza (also handles .torrent files)
Grouper (personal file sharing P2P)
eMule
mIRC (IRC)
Bottler and Brian Bottler (IRC Bot) Note: IRC channels dont really like bot users.
TrustyFiles (personal file sharing P2P, also does other networks like Kazaa)
