What server technology do you think is best suitable for creating dynamic web-based system (e.g an online ordering system). Well, there are lists to choose from. PHP, ASP, JSP and countless others i could not remember at the moment. Justify your reason including the features of your chosen server technology.

Its open source
Its based on a language structure, that resembles C. None of that VB rubbish used in ASP, Which seems to change on what you are doing
Its Free
Its really easy to pickup
Its really easy to install
Its multi platform compatible
Massive online support
Intergrates really nicely with MySQL, which is also free
Loads of sample scripts available
Probably the best free Forum software, PHPBB2, needs to it to run

OPEN SOURCE IS BETTER IN ALOT OF WAYS

Php agreed, on a linux platform, choice of Database is probably Mysql... Depending on the complexity of your online ordering.
Most Hosting company offer these technology as standard and you can be up and running in no time at a good low rate.
As I am sure you know in the tech world the main thing is service, security,support and speed, and because PHP is open source the support you get or can obtained is endless, PHP is cross platform, can run on pretty much anything, security is reasonable, and speed is healthy,
But it is down to the complexity of your online system and personal choice.
To get up and running I would use PHP hands down for now.
