Recently I typed an entire sentence in uppercase, (I had accidentally hit the 'CAPS LOCK' key), and because I'm not an expert typist I was looking down at the keyboard so did not notice until I looked up at the screen. Anyway, I wanted to press a button to select the sentence to put it into lowercase. But as far as I could tell there wasn't any!
Does anyone know if there is a shortcut way to do this?

If you're using MS Word, there is a 'Change Case' option under the 'Tools' menu. Highlight text first, then 'Tools/Change Case', then choose option, either sentence case or lower case.
Never tried to make that into a toolbar button - don't know if there's a way.

Thanks
Went to 'Tools', nothing there remotely like 'Change Case'. I'm using (MS) Word 97 btw, (want to get Office 2007 - rave reveiws!), on Win98 because even though I have (MS) Word 2003 I think there is some sort of corruption as something always goes wrong, (e.g. computer freezes), when I open it. But that's by the by. Is there a keyboard shortcut method?
*Possible idea for new invention/programme??? lol

My mistake - command is under the 'Format' menu, not 'Tools'. This is on my version of Word 97.

Thank you soulrebel! wish there was an even shorter way though.

Try this....
- On the 'Tools' menu, click 'Customise'
- A small window appears which should have a button labelled 'Keyboard' toward the bottom right-hand corner - click the button - another window opens
- On the left of this new window should be a list of your menu options (File, Edit, View, etc); click on 'Format', and the relevant menu choices should appear in another list
- Scroll down this second list until you find 'ChangeCase'; click on this and the current shortcut keys assigned to this command should appear in the window under where it says 'Current keys'.
- You can at this point change which keys are assigned if you want - if you do, click the 'Assign' button to confirm the choice you make.
On my work laptop 'Change Case' has Shift + F3 assigned as shortcut keys, so you might try that. Still have to highlight text, and each time you press keys it changes appearance of text.
See how that goes.....
