Whats up...
Need some help making a line graph with excel. For some reason I can't get the (x) axis to show the right information.
I'm making a line graph to show the volume of sales of individual product types from month to month so its supposed to be;
(y) axis = Volume in hundreds 100 - 200 - 300 - 1000 with detail on the lesser multitudes laddered for accurate reading. The true amounts should be readable when needed by clicking on the marker I'm sure.
(x) axis = Months Jan - Dec. Marked weekly.
Hoping to chart the total sales of said product for the month on another graph.
Problem is that I don't seem able to set the (x) axis and set the product types, the two clash when they shouldn't. I should be able to have them seperate.
(y) Axis = Volume
(x) Axis = Timespan
Legend = Product 01/Product 02...
Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks
R.L

I was about to state about using the chart wizard on excel. But Cell beat me to it.
Good info anyway.

Thing is, he is doing a line graph, not a bar... although I find the bar graphs a bit easier to deal with visually.
The key to a good graph is the way you set up the underlying table, as well as how you set up your series when you create the graph... uses the series popup box to highlight the right areas of the table and it should show a preview of what your graph will look like.
PM me if you want specific help, but it doesn't sound tough to do if you tinker with the series and axes.

Yup.
Its about bar graphs still helpful... that lil clip thing dosen't do anything... man I wish I'd noticed this thread earlier... ummm... I've got it all on screen but now I can't get the diffrent products to change. Theres only one line and not the others in the key... this shouldn't be so hard to do. Can't seem to change any thing but the one product...
