I need to design a invite for a christianing.
Can anyone recomend a free package that can do the job.

| Publisher is good if you have microsoft office, it's very easy to use.

You might want to go to http://www.freeserifsoftware.com.
They have applications such as PhotoPlus and other graphics applications that rival Photoshop. They are freeware.
I've used the PhotoPlus and it's great. There's another for more graphical stuff but I forgot the name. That one might also have templates for cards, invitations, etc.

Never heard of publisher before today.
Now I have looked into it I will go for that package.

the stuff looks impressive
do they have anything like adobe indesign and quarkxpress and publisher
where can i get reviews

Publisher is good
Adobe Indesign is good aswell
quarkxpress is excellent though the price is high for pc's than it is for macs

If you have Microsoft Works 99/2001 then they should be able to help you produce a christening invite using Microsoft Greetings or Microsoft Works Tasks Launcher.
Open Office is free.
Also you may have an old CD with Ability Office 98, (courtesy of computer mags), which is also free. If you haven't it's worth asking around; maybe someone you know who's into computing may have one. They may even have other free office software on cd's.
