Does anyone know of any Search Engines that has strictly no connection with Google?

lol i say that because of your emphasis on it having no connection with google and recently China has given instruction to Google to block certain material that may be viewed as 'anti- Chinese Gv't' so certain materials may or may not be shown.

I'm just tired of having only Google's format to search stuff. The search engines connected with them just don't seem good as they use to be.
Take Ask.com, they use to be good, but even if they are not connected with Google, they seem to have taken their style, (using just keywords), and it's not the same.
Copernic (sp) is another one that use to be good but last I heard you have to pay for it ...
Oh btw Hotbot uses google so that a no no

Meta-search engine.
