It's a pointed question actually. LOL
What do you use for a pointing device?
I find mice extremely annoying. Having to move my entire arm just to point around the screen is ridiculous. And having to pick the thing up and move back when you go off the pad or bump into something makes it worse. Either you have this wire that gets caught on things or you buy batteries. Plus its in a different location evey time you go to use it.
I have always preferred trackballs, the wire isn't a problem since you don't have to move it.
I have the Logitech Marble Mouse on two computers now.

I tried the Microsoft Optical Mouse but switched to Logitech.

The Microsoft actually has a more comfortable shape and is nice because it also has a scroll wheel but the Logitech works better for precise graphics manipulation since my index finger is more dexterous than my thumb. I presume it is for most people. Plus the ball on the Logitech moves more smoothly and sometimes the MS ball just seems to get stuck and hard to move. I'm not sure whether it's defective or bad design.
I had a Memorex trackball a couple of years ago. It wasn't as well shaped but better than a mouse. I even bought one to use at work.
I realize most computers come with mice so most people just go with that, but if you must use the machine a lot a good human interface is real important, so I was wondering what people are using out there.
