A few good reasons why home made products work better than commercial ones:

It costs less to make home made products

You don't need to over load your body with uneeded chemicals

In many cases, I have found the results even BETTER than the commercial ones

It is a learning process to make home made things

Its so much fun to make them

Your friends and family will love your 'potions'

You are in solid control over what goes into your temple (body)

A few thins I HAVE to have at home at all times:

Black soap - body and loc care

Extra Virgin Olive oil -As part of skin cream ingredient and for my conditioner wash which I use alone)

Honey -too many uses to list!

Sea Salt - good in making body scrubs.

Essential oils -They go into everything!

OK, so you don't want to go all the way with making home made products:

A few ideas:

**In your conditioner, add a mix of olive oil and honey: Apply to your hair after your shampoo session, cover with a shower cap, cover the cap with your towel, leave for as long as you like and then rinse thoroughly. Et voila - very soft hair!

**Add essential oils into your shampoo. Tea tree and peppermint are great for the scalp.

** Mix your skin cream with sea salt and a base oil (olive oil, almond oil -an example) Use as a scrub

Be creative with your home ingredients to spice up your hair and beauty care.

Wow! These seem like really good, cheap tips!

For her hair, my mother uses mayonaise as a conditioner.

One of my best friends also uses carrot oil for her hair-it leaves it really soft and smooth.

A health rememdy my mother uses is emu oil...I was very sick once, and she rubbed emu oil me, and it reduced the swelling in my throat, etc.
