Ok So here I am watching DreamGirls...which was good for the music.....and the thinly veiled attack on Diana Ross and Berry Gordon....But anyway I'm watching said film with the Wife and then it hit me that there were obviously no Black people on the writing staff, when the script was written..
The scenario.... jennifer Hudson's character heavily suspects that her Beau....(ol Fish lips himself Jamie Fox) is carrying on bad with the Beyonce Character.... Understandably the jennifer Hudson Character is none to happy and before she gets fling off the group...she voices her feelings in no uncertain terms to ol' Fish lips and Beyonce....
Two two's....Fish lips and Beyonce in the film get married and make beautiful music together as it were... However before the end of the film, the jennifer Hudson Character is all weepy and forgiving the Beyonce character even though she done took her man, her spot as lead singer and screwed her right royally....
Now i can buy that the Jennifer hudson Charcter might forgive the the Beyonce character for take her spot in the group, i can buy that she forgave her for screwing her out of the group.... But i'm sorry I cannot believe that a Black woman who forgive any woman she considers a friend, for tekking her man and then marrying the wretch, am I wrong, can A women forgive a friend who took their man?
Because i'm just not buying it personally no way!!!

Easy peasy. What woman woud want a no good lying cheating olodo good for rara man, and for thast matter a friend... they dererve themselves abi!  Would I forgive... me being me...sure...in years to come after I had met and married my Nubian King living in bliss and harmony...I would sure lend an ear to her when he decided to do the same thing to her... The way you meet your man is the way you gonna loose him. No love lost.

Look at Effie's daughter. It was YEARS later. I doubt she'd trust her again or be best friends but forgiveness I can buy. They say "forgive but don't forget".

Very possible giving the circumstances, you see Effie had yearsssssss to be mad and put one hell of a front for Bee and Jamie's characters, but at the end of the day her career was more important than spending her life vex wid her friend and the man. Her desire to get back on top was the driving force for forgiveness and nothing else.
But I think in normal everyday circumstances a reconcilliation would be hard. I most defo would not be forgiving a friend for taking my man..... there is a certain line you should never cross and taking your friend's man is one. No matter how fine you think the man is or how much attention he shows you.

i can forgive her taking my man, but for taking the SPOTin the group and screw me out of money , that is frigged up!, man can be replaced, however getting a record deal is not that easy.

I agree with above.
She can tek the no good man if she wants, what goes around comes around.
But for screwing me out of my career, which is my dream. - No Way. Esp as Beyonce's character wouldn't have got anywhere without effie's voice.......

If I was Jennifer Hudson's character I would have slapped the horse weave off Beyonce's 'high yella' head until she was bald like Isaac Hayes.
I've never known any woman to forgive the next gal fi taking her man, whether the dude is wotliss or not.....and if a woman got screwed out of a career, I wouldn't blame her if she got all Mike Tyson with a bit of Naomi Campbell and Lone Wolf thrown in the mix and slaughtered the beeyatch.
That's unforgivable and any person who WOULD forgive that is either the closest thing to the man upstairs, or is just simply not right upstairs!!
