The wedding was beautiful....that gf i spoke about earlier was not in the wedding, and never showed up either. I have recently had a baby boy, Mekhi......and she also didn't come to my baby shower.....so I think our friendship dynamic has changed, but oh well....life goes on.

There's so many diseases going around and nuff people have made the mistake of having unprotected sex because the person "looks healthy". Maybe twenty years ago you could get away with that but not in these times.

What's the point of only making sure you are tested when you don't know what the other person you are sleeping with could be carrying? I get tested regularly even if there is no need to, i do it because i like to know what's going on with my body and if there is something wrong the earlier you take care of it the better.

I understand how terrifying some of the tests are for men :shock:

, i have sat and watched my ex getting his done and it aint pretty and if i was a man i'll probably be trying to delay having to get some of those tests done but think how worse it could be for you if you indeed catch some nasty STI and find out to late to successfully treat it?

Fact is, the HIV virus can be dormant for a good while, so a negative result from a test today ONLY means that at the time of the test, the virus did not show. You could go without sex for the next 12 months, get tested and find yourself positive so be VERY AWARE..

I personally would suggest that if you are sexually active that a regular medical sexual check up [which is FREE in the UK] should be done at least every year until you are in a regular and solid relationship upon which the fidelity of your partner is not in question and even then I would wait at least 5 years before I had no more HIV checks..

The silly thing is, that once you know that you are clear, most people try to stay that way and those who put it off, will often take just one more chance [AND HOPE].

Personally I think it should be compulsory as medical ignorance is something lots of us suffer from, especially when we are young.. and women should note, it is still easier for you to get infected than a guy,, so be smart and trust your common sense not just his word..
