This is not strictly true,I know car-dealers,mortgage brokers, jewelry and clothing vendors, organic food sellers, caterers etc, etc. My friend had a dog walking business and she made serious BANK,I would have worked with her too were it not for the fact that i'm quite squeamish.

Granted I don't know any in this country but in New York the African/Black folk who were in business were pretty diverse.

You will have to ask DM. It is actually a bookshop but it sells soaps and incense sticks as well. It might actually stock more of the body products now.

Shea butter doesn't work for me. I did buy some of the white Shea from NN a few weeks back but my skin does NOT like it. I used to use the yellow one from Baldwins and my skin didn't like that either.

My hair loves the Shea Butter Leave-In-Conditioner though.

Well I'm sharing this news with my family when I see them today. We were only discussing where to get Shea butter from last week. I desperately want to try it on my hair to see if it stops the breakage. Love it natural and although it's not always quick wouldn't entertain anything else.

Thanks Mezmerized.niceone.gif

Ok, I'm gonna be the odd one out here but I wasn't impressed at all...

I'm a die-hard Body Shop fan, I can't go in there without taking half the store with me but the products sounded good and I like to support my own so I eventually found the store but nothing grabbed my attention. Maybe I'll go back and buy a book or visit one of the other outlets in South London, I still think people should check it out though you never you may like it.

Hey...its all good. I don't think its meant to be for everyone 100%

Perhaps as you say, you are a die hard BS fan, and if that works better for you, stick with it;)

Anyways, ladies....summer is coming up and i can tell you that the scrubs will get that skin glowing soon enoughniceone.gif

Hi BnB,

Body shop products are not good, have you read the ingredients. Its just hype and they do not have a social conscience as they would like us to believe. They are global and corporate like all the other big boys, so think twice before handing over you hard earned money to Anita...

Who's Anita?

I've read the ingredients and I know they aren't THAT natural but they are more natural/concentrated then the rest of the high street market.

Well I finally visited the store on saturday and I loved it! Was broke as a joke so couldn't invest in anything but pay day is this week (banana.gif) so will deffinatly be back there.

I fell in love with the Ivorian body butter (thanx niceness niceone.gif), shea butter lotion, the pure shea butter and the black seed soap but I'm a bit wary of the soap as they normally dry out my skin really badly and i have to stick to shower gels which don't but if it doesnt work for me, I'll use it as one of the draw fragrance type thingies and let my clothes reap the benefits!

Has anyone used the soap before? If so how did you find it?

Also, I suffer from eczema breakouts, mainly on my arms so can anyone recomend something for it? I used to use pure coconut oil and it really does the trick but my skin has a tendancy to build up an immunity to things after a while lol so after a year or so, it stopped working.

That happens to me but on my legs and usually during winter. I use Aloe Vera Gel to calm it down. But I actually found Pirotin allergy tablets to be REALLY good-they were recommened by a friend and they worked.

You have just reminded me, I need to make a stop to the shop on payday for a body wash and a body scrub. I've been using the Honey&Brown Sugar in both but I want to try the Lavender&Wildflowers. I also want to try their 'Lick Me All Over' fragrance. If anyone has tried the fragrance let me know what u think.

I went back to the shop yesterday and tried the Lick Me All Over Fragrance. I though it smelled great and really subtle which is what I like in a fragrance. I treated myself to the ivorian body butter and I swear my skin has never felt better. I used it after my bath last night and usually my skin it quite dry in the morning but it felt just as soft and smooth as it did the night before. You can really see the difference in consistancy between their body butter and the body shop body butter. Its like a million times thicker which is exactly what my skin needs. Things that are too waterbased tend to dry out my skin and aggravate my eczema.
