@Kunjufu. Must say excellent pictures . Would love to hear your insights into Cambodia at some point. Possibly on an appropriate thread one day. Given the pictures shows it must have been an experience.

As promised, here is more photos from my trip to Ethiopia.
These obelisks are known to be the tallest single pieces of stone ever quarried and erected in the ancient world.
This was the tallest of the monoliths (toppled by a mad queen) broken into six massive pieces. The obelisk was 33.3 meters tall and weighed an estimated 5 tones.
Near by you’ll find tombs of kings and queens and It is believed that the obelisks may have been erected as a memorials to the deceased kings and queens.

This is the tallest (23 meters tall) obelisk still standing at Axum. This obelisk and others are carved with representations of multiple storeys with floors between them. Each storey features several window carvings and, at the base of the obelisks, you can see false doors complete with knockers and locks.

This is one of the many burial chambers, this coffin is made out of a single stone, no one exactly know to the day how they managed to get the corps in the coffin.

Blue Nile Falls The locals call it “Tis Isat� - Water that smokes.
The river falls with a force and a noise that is frightening; I can’t describe what it is like you have to experience it. If you are brave to get near enough you can also see hippos.
Truly amazing experience.
