As many of you may be aware already, I am in the process of writing a book on the effects of the hip hop mentality on all of Black culture and Black society in general. This is a book which decries the misuse of our musical and cultural gifts from Afrika that has become so popular as of late. While I am careful to point out the many postive aspects of rap, the language of the book is bold and will be considered controversial (I'm not afraid to call certain Black folks "slaves").
I am looking for a BLACK PERSON or persons to provide artwork for the front and back cover. Art for the front cover pays $150 USD in exchange for first printing rights (only) and a credit at the front of the book with a short bio telling about your work and experience in the event that someone sees your art and wants to use you for another cover. The back cover will be a logo, pays $70 USD for total rights (you would be selling this art to me) and a credit at the front of the book. Please note that I am paying these expenses out of pocket without having made a cent on my book, so that is why I cannot offer what I'd like to in terms of payment. However, this book is going to be controversial and Amazon has already agreed to sell it, so your art will get a lot of publicity. You will also be given $20 USD as reimbursement for shipping and materials.
