This is where I'll be this weekend - I hope many of you can go along as well.  As a boy growing up in a Jamaican house in NW London during the 70s and 80s, I'm hoping to be reminded of them days (apart from the lick mi fader gi mi wid im belt!).

These are the kind of things we must take out youths to to see what where our parents came from and how it all began.

Despite the intense competition from American Cultural Imperialism, we Afro-Carribbeans Brits have our own story to tell, and it mustn't ever be forgotten...  It's our duty to keep those memories alive...

***********************

Photographs by Jamaican-born Londoners, Armet Francis, Neil Kenlock and Charlie Phillips, bear witness to the story of London's black communities from the 1960s to today.

A free exhibition of over 100 images captures a period of profound change as a new generation explored their identity as black Londoners.

See iconic events, from Black Panther demonstrations to Bob Marley's visits to Britain. Admire portraits of international stars, such as Muhammad Ali and Peter Tosh, alongside scenes of everyday life in London, from the streets of Brixton to the pubs of Notting Hill.
