I mentioned this in another topic, but the Whitechapel Arts Gallery has an exhibition that finishes in a few days that is simply excellent.  It fetaures art, style and cinema from the UK, Jamaica and the US from the early 1970s.

It's free (but I happily donated on exit).  If you're in London and have an hour spare, go along to whitechapel and give it a go...

Lot's of reminders of my youth, especially the photos from the 1970s...;)

I've been.

It's worth going.

Sadly, I didn't see that many black people there.  It seems other people are more interested in us than we are of ourselves.

There's a video of black music album covers in there from the era prior to when the corruption of black music, expression and representation occured.

There's another video of a meeting of black brothers and sisters who were coming together to do some serious things.  The concepts they were dealing with are the exact same things we are dealing with and trying to get to grips with today.  I was amazed because it doesn't seem as if we have gotten anywhere since the 70's.

When will black people get out of their Western individualistic self-centred living that has us divided, ignorant of each other & self, weak and going down the road of putting to ext
