I had to give my boy Taku a lot of props on his artwork. It's very impressive for someone who was born, raised and lives in Japan who's english isn't even that good. Love how he managed to capture the essence.

Bismillaah   Salaam, Prince Hakeem.  Good selection, interesting.  Taku, has a Nice Hand.  Ooops, almost forgot the 'exposure' (nudity), wasn't really necessary!  it's kind of spiritless, worn out, dull if you can follow my thinking.  Salaam.       OriginalBM

Guys,

I love what I'am seeing so far. I love to those colors, the expression that these pieces of artwork are sending out to any art lovers.  You can also  "feel" them as well. Not only can I go to the summer/ winter National Black Arts Festival to see such masterpieces, I can see them on here. Art 365 days a weeks. I'm loving it to the fullest!!

Just spotted these!

Unbelievable! !:shock::shock::shock:

Wow!!

Those pics were soooo awe inspiring!!

The racially neutral perspective of these images inpires a deep sense of hope in me - and I hope in others too...

...I especially love the "Don't panic - it's just a colour", and "You can get it 'cause you are trying"

Truly inspirational.

Thanks!!!niceone.gif

Any more??????

clp) WOW

japanese artists are very experimental in their approach...they are interested in other cultures and therefore like to show respect for the inspiration they draw from.

But this is raw talent from someone who can see outside themselves and feel what another totally different culture feels.............truely a beautiful thing!

Hmm?! I like the colours and subject matter but there is just something...something that stops me heaping praise on this guy.

I lived in Japan for 3 and a half years and as a Black female I was/am what most of the Japanese women and men (under say 25) were spending money at the hair salons and tanning booths to be. I was frustrated by the fact that despite having such a rich culture of their own, the Japanese 'yout' I encountered were trying SO hard to be associated with the Afro-American/African/Caribbean culture.

I see this as another example. Taku is indeed a talented artist but it makes me wonder...the fact that you mentioned his English isn't that good...does he fully comprehend what most of the phrases he has used mean, or has he heard them in a song/seen them somewhere...I am probably going to receive some backlash for this but I lived emulation for 3 or so years and it got boring and annoying after a while. When you see a Japanese girl who is Blacker than you, has 'booty lifting/finding' panties on and her hair in braids..oh and don't forget the collagen....it makes you look deeper into what these pictures/pieces of artwork really are.

Like I said though, this guy has talent and his use of colour and brush stokes is amazing...but.....

Could please be more elaborate. Asians are on the rise, if they dig afroamerican culture, well then that could be good and beneficial for our people. The dude said he prefered art with people of colour, which includes asians. Funny part is that "white" folks sort of have color to.

Any interest in our culture is good as long as it is not exploited and/or obsessed about. What I equate it to is someone Black doing a Michael Jackson-do we say that he is just 'diggin' White culture?

Like I said, I am not taking anything away from this guy's talent....but...

You like "buts"blkbooty don't you.  Just kidding...

I agree that explointing is bad for us, and maybe others too. BUT being obsessed (with black culture) at the moment wouldn't be too bad. The whole world is obsessed/oppresed with western (read white) culture and until we can balance things out some obsessions will be needed.

Either way I think I get your point and I agree partially.

I find this art to be impressive.

The red background and unusual kissing expression of tpd tears the man away from reality leaving only a representation of his feeling. It seems the man is being stripped further from a fashionable materialist, to a monk, to his spiritual centre as if the love he is about to give is becomming more and more apparent. Alternatively the central figure, without hair or white markings is the most important and proves that no matter how a person is built apon the same feelings lie within.

Another transformation or uncoverring in tpl compliments the intentions of the artist. In tpl002 it seems the 2 names are graffitied with the date, as is common in graffiti, and in tpl001 this name is replaced with pride and displayed more strikingly, implying tpl001 represents the image the figure wishes to display, of the power, beauty and impenetrability, whereas tpl002 displays the chaotic uncertain interior. The change in colour, but not form removes the sense of time and let's us see these 2 perspectives from one instance, the persepctive we give to those outside and our self awareness.

Damned foolishness!

This is the problem with us black people; as soon as any other race does something we tend to overrate them. Is this part of our inferiority, we do it with the white man and we do it with all sort of Asians but never with other black people. We never stop hating Africans, or Caribbean’s, we’ll never date east Africans, we’ll never buy a house in Angola or Barbados, that music from Congo, it sound primitive, but we just so admire Indians; 'them Japanese women nice', 'Hispanics cool' and on and on, what idiots we are.

Do not get me wrong, I am not saying the pictures aren’t good but I have seen better pictures than this done by other black people. Now, all of a sudden, we start to behave like Gladys and Gladstones. Our people will soon start going around loving every Japanese and saying grovelling things like: ‘the Japanese like us you know, they are not like Indians who hate us. Remember one time it was ‘the Indian them like us’, then it was ‘the Italians them like us’ and our men don’t stop dancing and singing in the streets with gratitude.

I am going to post some pictures that have been done by Jamaicans and Africans and see if they will be highly rated. In addition, if you all will rush out to buy it so that the money go in the pocket of those black painters.

If any black man paint pictures of Japanese culture, do you think Japanese people will be giving it such praise, acclaim, and wanting to rush of to buy it?

alla dem kill us with hate and we respond with inordinate love and respec, now I see why people are racist to us it's because racism profitable.
