The blues on the clothes she is wearing look like a sunny sea. How did you get it to sparkle like that?
it is a special paint, a marble finishing, and it mixed with peces of glass which give it a reflex staing finishing
Ahh glass! It looks great that way. Was it your own idea? Did you crush the glass yourself? How do you use your hands to shape crushed glass, don't you get cuts?

The Idea of the Image was "Bayoc, ( mother and child)" for the drawing, I try to use some of my ceramics technic to present it in semi 3D using clay to mode the clothes volume the idea of using the glass and this type of pain was mine, the pain is quite expensive but it worth the result I gain from it... the pain is consist of paticles of glass mixed together and the othe blue and light blue glass is a powerder glass, solk in the water like a past and fill up in the space, there is no danger in it because is just like normal dust and I have got myself cut.
The image "Reserved" was my own creation yo can see it in the last collection I posted

Very beautiful, Basic_Meo. Like DM, I also like your use of the marble finish on her arms/the fabric of her garment. In fact, I like the scale of her arms very much--emphasizes her character as "Mother Earth."
Re: Benin, isn't the mask that you are holding in your avatar also from/of Benin?
Rebel-Lion, I like Basquiat also. There was an exhibit of his work here last year at the Brooklyn Museum. I thought it a good time to introduce my oldest niece and nephew to his work. I thought I would have to kill them! Let's just say they did not enjoy it as much as I did (understatement!).

That's great news about the bank exhibit, Basic_Meo!
The bank is slow--they are just catching on to what we at BN knew all along, that your work is great. I am confident that the September exhibit is going to be one of many on the way.
Please continue to keep us posted.

the ‘touch tone, and ‘the harp’ made me speechless.
you have got to start selling these things.
you have to open up a shop on the high street or on the net even.
what are you doing with all of this work. Do you guard your work jealously.?
you can’t have such a gift and not share it.
I am sure that is why God gave it to you.
How long are all of these taking you to do?
There are many people interested in black and African art, and I’m sure that you can sell your pieces in the thousands.
Especially, under a limited edition or ‘one of a kind’ range.
Use ‘basic meo’ as your brand name, it also capture the originality and simplicity of your work.
Otherwise dear, don’t mean to be crude… “when you die… someboday is gonna make a whole lotta money off yo ass’…
… and trust me.. you will want the prestige while you are living.
Pure talent!
