| Cypress what is your arguments for disagreeing, peacemake why yap yap yap. It is a cause for alot of marriage beak ups as men usually cannot perform when it comes to making love to their wives or partners. Anothing point is that according to a recent survey men usually fantasise about making love to other women whilst making live to their partner ie Halley Berry. This can only cause problems within a relationship and then women wonder why their me don't want to touch them anymore. Actually this topic is a good point because I feel that people watch porn or fantasise about other women because the end result will be masturbation or to take the fanasy out on their respective partners. Some might argue that masturbation is a sexuall release and that it's better than raping someone. I feel that it's an addiction like any other addiction which has it's problems in most cases I reckon it's to do with porn which is why so many people watch hense to build themselves up because they know they are going to masturbate afterwards which is like a feeling of ecstasy hence like a drug making a person feel like it is a welcome relief from stress.
I feel the porn industry and movie makers realise this which is why their is so much porn around us. To me right now it feels like eureka as it is a point that will be addressed, there has been a problem with porn in society for a long time and I have just seen a step to the solution from another angle.

ANY sexual activity which attempts to bypass reproduction is a sin. God joined the creation of life together with the pleasures of sexual intercourse. Birth control and abortion attempt to defeat the creation of life that is entwined by Nature's God with the reproductive act. So does masturbation.
In addition, masturbation is a homosexual act: sex with a person of the same sex, namely yourself.
The Bible refers to the deed as the sin of Onan. Onan was the son of Judah and Shuah. Genesis 38:4. The Lord slew Onan's brother for wickedness. Judah told Onan to marry his brother's wife "and raise up seed to thy brother." Genesis 38:8. But Onan did not want to have children by his brother’s wife.
"And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother."
Genesis 38:9. This misdeed displeased the Lord; "wherefore he slew him also." Genesis 38:9-10.
Onanism in the larger sense stands for sexual activity which seeks to avoid reproduction. The solitary vice is one category of such activity. The seed of life is not a plaything. It is to be employed responsibly only in the bonds of matrimony and with the act always open to the possibility of the creation of offspring.
We are enjoined by the Lord to subdue the flesh and make it obedient to the Spirit, that it not rise up against us and bring us to shame. Even animals are trained to obey. We must do the same with our sensual nature. "But I keep under my body under, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others,I myself should be a castaway." 1 Cor. 9:27. "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other . . ." Galatians 5:17.
"Without holiness no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14.
Congratulations on winning the victory over this sin. The first step is to know the truth. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32. The person who counseled you brought you to the truth about this behavior. Then you chose to obey the truth in righteousness. Jesus is Truth. They that love him, love truth and are obedient to it.
Sex is not solely for reproduction, but it must never deliberately foreclose reproduction. As one friend said to me: "No pleasure without responsibility."
There is much greater joy in subduing the flesh than in indulging it. The former is noble and holy; the latter shameful and unclean. Self-abuse, of course, is always accompanied by lustful and lascivious thoughts. It is sterile sex with oneself. No one can maintain a pure mind while polluting himself physically and mentally with such activity.
Praise be to God, who delivers us from these things and preserves us pure in mind and body unto his kingdom.

The requirement to be used for noble purposes is that the person must cleanse himself from the ignoble purposes. He must "flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace." God then responds by completing the person's holiness and uses that person for his good works.
Your body is to be presented and used as an instrument of righteousness (not sin): One of the steps to breaking slavery to sin is choosing what your body is used for. Often people may forget that they retain the power to choose what they will do with their body. Sin may try to deceive a person to thinking that they are uncontrollably enslaved to it's desires. Presenting the body as an instrument of righteousness asserts one's authority over sin through Jesus Christ.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. Romans 6:12-13 NKJV
Masturbation and lust are deceitful: Have you bought the idea that masturbation and lust aren't that bad for your spiritual health? Have you allowed masturbation and lust a comfortable place in your life? Or, are you letting Satan condemn you and tell you that since you masturbate, you'll never be good enough to approach God? Either case reveals deceit. Deceit is a distinguishing characteristic of our old nature, which we are called to put off: Put off your old nature which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4: 22-24).
The truth is that masturbation can rob you of many of the blessings God has planned for your life. God calls you to put off masturbation and lust and everything else that is part of the sinful person that Jesus Christ died for on the cross. Jesus was resurrected, so that you also could live in a new life, free from the slavery of sin.

wasn't gonna contribute to this thread, just sit back and laugh to myself(!) but i have 2 burning questions:
No 1: if masturbation is sinful because it "spills/wastes seed" how does this "biblically" speaking discourage women from masturbating? Its not as if we ejaculate ovum!! Also with reference to that paticular passage of the bible that an earlier poster quoted, the man wasn;t actually masturbating when he "spilled his seed". He was having sex with his brothers with and pulled out before ejaculation so as not to impregnate her, against Gods will.
