Its never the size of the dog in the fight, its ALWAYS the fight in the dog.....
Still guys no matter what martial arts you take, pure and raw strength of an opponent can always equal the fight because as gifted as your technique is, if the non trained can land a punch even one you block, if he is strong enough he can throw you off balance and follow up with one that connects. The could be the punch that ends the fight.
I forgot to ask if your fighting was fair. I mean I have taught my wife and daughter how to jab to the eyeball with a fingernail or jab to the windpipe which no matter how thick you are, you have no protection there.....knuckle to the temple...... soft unprotected tissue is a mutha..... So some of the women on here could probably take many guys on here down with a good shot to the right area (including moui) and stand over you as so...... LOL
Anything in a fight is possible......
SB, man you sound like a psycho.......and i concede and change my mind. It would have to be you and Airbourne 101 in the final.
Depends if we met in the first round and had a battle to end all battles, the winner could go into the next round and be defeated easily by SoooFresh and a skillet because he has no strength left LOL
I seriously doubt SF would wait until either of us recovered before cast iron connected with the winner's skull....... LOL

Does anybody think this statment is true?
It is... theres something to having an enemy, its not just a matter of not liking someone, for the most part its that that person is a kind of threat to you or something you stand for. At times its that they have something that you don't or are so alike that they clash.
If you've never been in a fight, had enemy or been angry at someone/thing enough to wanna kick some ass then you've never had to stand to defend something... you don't know yourself well enough to have something to fight for or don't value that something enough to get some bruises and a broken nose for it... they use it in initiations like in Fight club, if you're to join a certain group you're asked to fight someone or do something that puts your life on the line to see how much you value the ideals of that group over yourself.
So you're worst enemy can be your best friend in that they're worthy opponents and know you well enough to grate that something within you enough to make you wanna beat them about the head and back up from your ideals/street cred/self esteem. You'll find that two boxers will respect one another more so than people think simply because they've sized each other up and worked out each others weaknesses and, ''know them'' if you get me.
Used to know one Irish kid who'd always pit himself against me when we were kids, scuffing me up when he had the chance and stuff... can say officially that he knew me better than the our other friends cause he knew how I'd react, how I'd fight in a situation, what to expect if someone went too far because like an annoying little brother he knew what I'd fight for and how to piss me off more than anyone.... He also knew/knows that I don't back down from anything even if the chips are down and that I'd kick anyones ass on this board cause I'm the don mega don, born dread, the harder they come style, bwad man a' bwad man, any ting' wan tes' me haffe...

I have spent many many years practicing martial arts and now spar and train with up and coming UFC fighters as a hobby good hands, feet, expert on ground blackbelt in ju jitsu . All my family brothers and sisters have also done martial arts from a very young age. This came from father whom used to teach karate.
My observations nowadays is it apears to be all about presence and not many men are truly tested it's only psych and intimidation.
By that I mean many brothers seem to think if they get buffed up in the gym that somehow makes them invincible if they look big and strong and it's probaly the reason why so many brothers besides looking good for women go overboard on the steroids.
Well I can tell you what in my day every man had to prove his worth on the street arena and you had to do it with your fists.
I have seen more big strong looking guys get knocked out or beat up by an average looking guy that had good hands or knew how to fight than you care to mention.
As a proper seasoned fighter whom has had many street confrontations with men with and without weapons and still come out on top. May I add I spent many years in the field of self protection. Having said all that despite making my money fron self defence/ self protection in my early years martial arts and fighting has always been a hobby to me.
I have to tell you that half the fight on the pavement arena is mental and how much heart you have because fear can beat a man before he even throws his first punch I have seen this happen to so many men. They look at the man in front of them and see a big bad man standing there and they sh...t themselves though intimidation or cos the man in front of them is telling them he is gonna kill them .
The point I am trying to make is never judge a book by it's cover and don't underestimate anyone, even a woman as like I told you I have sisters whom have been studying martial arts since they were 6 years old and they are grown women now and I know for a fact they could kick the average mans arse with ease.
And they are both second degree blackbelts in kenpo Karate, Just remember the an eight stone person can knock out and 18 stone person if they know how to strike correctly, where to strike ,and if they know how to punch their weight.
Having said all that children lol you must always try to talk a situation down and avoid psysical confrontation as people die in street confrontations.
Remember it sometimes takes more of a man to walk away knowing that you didnt have to resort to violence and I think as black men we need to learn to start doing that for the sake of our engangered black species.

Does anyone remember the early UFC days before the fighters became professional UFC fighters? When lots of theories were proven?
Like when Gracie took down that 300+ pound man in his boa constrictor fighting style? No punches, just a quick slip around him and instant choke hold with the man's own gi. Proving a small man can take down a big man with proper technique.
Or when a 5'7 ninja guy ran across the ring and attempted to tackle a 6'3 brother built like a piece of steel resulting in the brother crushing his cheekbone with repeated elbows to the face? Proving no matter how skilled you are, you should always respect strength.
What about when one guy had fought all the way to the finals, but his competitor had to withdraw and UFC in their infinite wisdom at the time drafted in another dude who had not fought anyone that day came in fresh and won over the other guy? A fresh man always has an advantage over a man that has fought a lot of battles.
What about the repeated final matchup between Gracie and Shamrock that took a while to get to because Shamrock would always hurt himself in the preliminary matches even when he won? Just because on paper you should make a final does not mean you will make a final, S--T happens.....
Last but not least Tank Abbott should serve as a reminder to all martial artists, how many long studying martial artists did knock out who simply saw him as a big lug with no skills? Yet a lot of this artists could not stand up to a solid punch of his which if he landed usually signaled the start of their loss of the match. Just because a man does not look like he can fight does not measure the will in him to fight.....
Going back to Gracie remember when he fought Kimo and he had Kimo in a choke hold and Kimo powered out of a hold with his raw strength? A hold that had choked out others in the past he simply powered out of it with his will and his strength. So with all of his technique passed down through the Gracie family, what did Gracie to do get Kimo in an armbar and make him tap out? He pulled his hair........He in a sense cheated......Another lesson as I tried to make with SoooFresh...just because you may fight "fair" does not mean the other side will fight fair if losing becomes a reality for them......
That is why I say a real fight is unpredictable . You can have the kicks and technique of Jet Li attacking a 55 year old woman, but what if while kicking at her head, you slip and fall and she stomps you in one of the man fruit with the heel of her 3 inch heel into the ground. OK now we can all uncross our legs LOL Not one of us will be able to continue to fight after that a squishing like that LOL And would probably take a thorough whipping afterward not even being able to stop her after she scampers down the street and jumps in her car.
You had all the skill and technique in the world, but you fell and she stomped you....luck was not on yourside that day...... and you lost. Predicting fights in the street is almost as easy as predicting the next number of rolled dice.

Love mixed martial arts espcialy UFC
Lol you guys are talking of the very early days of UFC when they didnt wear gloves and there was no weight category.
Gracie was truly a legend of the sport and he and his family played a big part in the popularity of ju jitsu and paved the way with is ground fighting.
I have watched UFC develop and I think I like where it's at now. you have some great mixed martial artist fighting now such as.
the Legend
Randy the natural courture = Now heavyweight champion after defeating Tim sylvia UFC 68
Chuck liddel = Light heavyweight champion this fella is at the top of his game right now.
Anderson siva = middleweight champion great fighter on ground and standing
George st pierre = Welterweight Champion after putting a stop to the dominant Matt Hughs reign as champion.
we have some great fighters whom have been signed to ufc whom I think will shake things up a bit such as.
Quinton Rampage Jackson one of the few men to have beaten the dominant Chuck liddel when they last met.
And also Mirco Cro Cop
Those of you whom are fans of K1 kickboxing will know Cro cop and have seen this guys fights. It has beens said on many occasions that this guy is likely to turn the heavyweight divsion upside down in UFC and possibly dominate the division with his deadly kicks lol.
Despite early UFC I think the sport has become more of an art now and we have a higher caliber of fighter and as a martial artist myself I apreciate that. And as much as I like watching a good striker such as chuck liddel.I also like to see a more technical aproach to defeating an oponent such as setting up for the chokes , and submisions.
All I want to see now is womens UFC I think that would be intresting.

The funny part of this is that if you shaved Chuck's head and put a suit on him he would look like a mild mannered accountant LOL
I think I liked the old days a little better because you never knew what you were going to get. You would actually see the different styles mingle and fight. Now the UFC is primarily for mixed martial artists.
It was more fun to me watching Jujitsu vs a form of Karate or brawler vs muy thai now everyone just seems to have the same style either striker or grappler.
