while I was serfing the Discovary Channel site i bumpped into a re-model of the of the queen Nefertiti face as it used to be.
To tell you he truth what i saw was an east-african women with light complection. I tought i was going to see a symaptic or a more of a latin looking women. Excuse me for my egnorance, blame my school.
Nefertiti has classic look of an east-african woman with those elongated nose and oval shape head and scalatel features and large eyes. These are the features which you would expect to see on an Ethiopian or somali more to the somali . You would't look twice if she walked in down town mogadishu (somalia).
east african people neather look african nor do they look like symatics like arabs.
so people here is my quiestions,
1. is there any connection between ancient egypt and this region of the world(east-africa)?
2. And if she did look like that why is conception that she looked symatic or looked eropean?
and post your opinion.

| What do you mean east african people don't look African? Africans come in a variety of looks. You should know that. Look at the Bushman. Anyway, Egypt is in East Africa. Somalis, Ethiopians, and even Sudanese have connections to the Egyptians. They borrowed each other's cultures and traded with each other. Egyptian civilization actually has its roots in Ethiopia.

| The reason why people believe she was white or Arab because they don't want to believe any of the Egyptians were black. Many think she was white because of her nose and her lips. they think Africans are supposed to look one way.

Yeah the whole world thinks Africans have flat noses..ect i.e people of west & central Africa. i swear people need to look at a map and see Africa is a massive continent with over 100 different race groups. i guess some people were never good at geography in school.

@Submission, there is no such thing as looks like "West African" or "East African".Some of the Fulani people may resemble some groups in East Africa just as some of the people in Kenya may resemble West Africans.

Central African Rwanda President

West African Fulani girl

East African man who could resemble "West" african as you call it!

East African Masai

East African(Hamar people Ethiopia)

EastAfrican just showed you very poignant examples of how what you deem "East" or "West" actually has no boundaries on the Continent. We are a diverse people, and you go and put up stereotypical images of "East" and "West" Africans. You sir or mam, are an idiot.

I see that only and only here on BNV, people use the term East African loosely and most of the times people here on BNV use it to refer to Somalis which is totally wrong. For your information East African does not refer to Somalis. East Africa refers to the whole of Eastern Africa, just as West Africa does not mean only Ghana, but a multitude of Nations. There is no specific look in East Africa. The people there are diverse and come in all shapes just like the rest of Africa.
Countries in East Africa under the IGAD (inter Governmental Authority on Development, the regional organization) are Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania Uganda.
Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia are also known as the Horn of Africa Countries, and when one looks on a map of Africa, the shape of that region looks like a horn.
Now given the above definition, I am surprise that Submission will say that people from East Africa do not look Arab or African, because technically I fall under the East Africa category and I have yet to experience what Submission mention. The so called figure of Nefertiti that Submission provided looks just like many Pure African women I have seen thousands of times.

Let me say here that I highly doubt Nefertiti came from East Africa given royalty through the mother was very strict in Kemet. However, Nefertiti very well could have been, although it is a fruitless discussion in my estimation. Most people judge her looks from one particular bust that Europeans have popularized only because it is the closest to their likeness. What about the many others?

Again, she may have "East African" features, but what does that really mean?...not a damn thing. So we shouldn't be using the labels the further divide us even on our heritage. Hotep...

| Submission, listen. You are obviously new to this. Have you seen all of the tribes in East and West Africa to know the difference? There are many East Africans that have full lips and flat broad noses like West Africans. Majority of them look nothing like the East Africans you posted, who are clearly mixed with Arab. You ought to have some nerve posting that picture of that light skinned girl when it's clear she has some non-black ancestry. And that last picture with that guy??? Are you kidding? Look at his complexion and eyes for Chrissake. He is straight up part Arab or full Arab. Take a look at some tribes in Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya and tell me if they look anything like the mixed race people you posted. And West Africans look different from each other too even though many of them may have full lips and flat, broad noses. Do the Ashanti look anything like the Fulani or the Igbo. I don't think so. So don't tell us what an East African/West African look is okay. Just like Shemsi said you are an idiot.

okey peepz why yall getting hot and botherd for.
its a fact that East africans do look different to west africans just like west africans look different to east africans..
so dnt try and tell me there is no such thing
when i say east africans i am not only talking about somalis?
Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia..ect these all have
the same kind of looks. For example not all Asians look the same but some have similar looks… I personally i would not be able to tell the difference between a P*kistani and an Indian they have the same kind of looks, the same hair texture, just like you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a chains person and a Japanese person. So there are certain people from different parts of Africa who have similar feature.
i have certain friends who are west africans but look like east africans... so when i use the term east african i am not talking about all the countries in east africa just the ones i mentiones above..
anyway getting back to the topic
this character known as Nefertiti does indeed look like the average Somali woman. To illustrate a bit, here a sample of Somali women, including the so-called professional model ones going first:
A professional model by the name of Yasmin Warsame.

Waris Dirie

iman
non-model somali women

Somali girls in their old traditional garments
but of course you can find women in modern Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Mali, Kenya, Rwanda, Libya and elsewhere with a similar appearance.
but thats just a handfull of people.. most somali women have got these features
One of the ladies shown above is Somali fashion model - Iman
From her autobiography:
I am beautiful because I am black and I am Somali
Ironically, or perhaps fittingly, Iman herself has portrayed Nefertiti.

Okay dummy here you go. We keep trying to tell you but you still keep going on and on like you can never be wrong. Not all East Africans look like those women above. Not all East Africans have straight noses. What about that don't you get? And the Chinese can tell themselves apart from the Japanese and vice versa. You know nothing.

| I'd always thought, based on what I've read, that Nefertiti was an Asian cracker. Never had any real interest in her. She could be Afrikan...don't know.

submission.........I think your post is funny really and will not last long. And it should not.
How did you thougt about this? As U can tell the flag from my avatar, there are many others from all corners of Africa who look like me. Heck I look different from my own brother. U probably 2 young to understand this, but if you will not take words from these guys on here, go read the gene code.......Science does cure myths.......map of polymorphic markers, or the PN2 clade....E3a(West Africa) and E3b(East Africa). looks is the wrong area to compare one group from another.
Your take on historical and scientific connection between Egypt and black Africa is a right one, but everything else you wrote is garbage.
