someone new, when do you tell them that you have Herpes? When you first exchange numbers? On the first date?
Before the first kiss? Or after they notice that they now have Herpes too?Last edited on Friday February 2nd, 2007 21:44 by Bacoo

I dont have herpes, but depending upon where you live 25-40% of the population DOES, and condoms dont protect you from it.
By the way Mz Smart azz, I have posted this topic on other boards and people discussed it like civilized adults.
It wont seem so silly if you wake up one day with an attack of herpes now will it??
Thank U.

How can you be so sure you DON'T have herpes? Unless ur showing symptoms u won't get tested for that at a GUM clinic, you would have to ask for a blood test. So herpes could be rolling around in YOUR system and you just don't know it yet.
It's a good question but should be thrown open to any std not just herpes. Chlamydia/pelvic inflammatory disease is a big one amongst women. PID can keep recurring so I think that would be hard to keep from a partner unless u wanna pass it off as severe period pains.
As for telling someone new I think it would depend on what type of relationship ur looking to have with that person. I think the person should definitely be told before you get to the bedroom stage, just incase accident happen.

I know I dont have herpes because I have been tested as part of my normal physical. Some people will tell when someone appears to express interest, but all too often folks DONT tell and wind up passing it on to others.

Genital herpes is not a routine test and is not done as part of a normal physical. One would have to ask specifically for STD screening.
I am not saying you do or do not have it, I am stating a fact.

| I would hope that someone with the disease would have enough about them to do the decent thing and TELL any future sleeping partner that they had this disease.....the consequences are far too serious to do otherwise...

Co-sign.
The problem is that symptoms don't always show as we'd like them too. Women who may have it might not show any symptoms of having herpes at all. So she'll probably never get tested and likely to pass it on to her S.O. I think it is the same for men but men may be more likely to show symptoms of herpes.
If my S.O. didn't tell me knowing she had it. I might try to ruin her life. Catching herpes can make you infertile. Plus it can flair up at anytime.
If you want to know if your girl/guy has it or not. Check their medicine cabinet if you see a perscription bottle for Valtrex in their run and don't look back.

This is a holistic/metaphysical view on Herpes from a brother called Dejeuhty:
If your partner/mate is afraid of giving you genital herpes, chances are they will give it to you. Why? Because you attract the thing(s) you fear so that the fear will be manifested via the law of attraction. The subconscious mind is the creator and the body is the field of manifestation (which manifests the things of the mind, subconscious mind). You will need to get rid of fears that are based in sheer ignorance. If there is love between the two people, let it (love) dominate and resonate! Loves drives out fear and right knowledge drives out ignorance!
Genital herpes is nothing but a mental condition. It only manifests physically because people believe in it and belief in a thing gives a thing power, brings it to life or manifestation.
Genital herpes is nothing but a condition of poisonous blood that manifests on the skin, usually in the genital region, because that's where the low energy is. It also manifests in the sex region because many fears and guilt complexes are associated with sex and the sexual organs. Guilt leads to conviction and conviction leads to punishment, so if you feel guilty about the sex act then you've convicted yourself of a religious-based forbidden act and therefore require punishment which usually comes in the form of a sexually transmitted disease (which can be painful). Remember, punishment is most often associated with some kind of pain be it mental, psychological or physical.
You will need to detox! Why? To put forth the effort to remove this so-called genital herpes by purifying the temple (body) instead of accepting genital herpes and living in fear that it is going to be transmitted to someone you love and care about.
Look into oxygen therapies. Oxygen naturally eradicates genital herpes! Next, work on alkalizing the body by juicing with green vegetables. Take hot sea salt and Lavender and Tea Tree oil baths daily.

Does oxygen also eradicate other forms of STDs including hiv/aids?

I seriously doubt that this is a cure for herpes.

| You don't say, there is no cure only prevention from an outbreak

Damn, so there's no real way u can protect yourself from it then?
Frankly, the only way to prevent your body being infected by these nasty little infections is to avoid promiscuous ho's.
You know the ones - they sleep with every Tom, Dick and Harry. They're like bicycles - everyone gets a ride, lol.
My days of being with girls just for the sex are over anyway. It gets boring. Always better to find somebody you really care about and who respects herself - much less likely to be spreading STI's too.

Your right!! Its best to be discrete and to take ones time with a woman, it might even be wise to schedule a joint Dr. appointment prior to getting busy!!

If the person isn't having an outbreak and uses condoms while havin sex it reduces the risk of u catching anything. You would also need to be careful if ur having oral sex and ur not sure if the person has an std or not, don't just take their word for it that their clean.
