BRISBANE, Australia – Steve Irwin, the Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray during a diving expedition, Australian media said. He was 44.
Irwin was filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef in northeastern Queensland state when the accident occurred, Sydney's The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on its Web site........

I used to watch this bwoy on telly and wonder at his stupidity.
He'd be there shubing his head up into a crocs mouth...... and I'd be like YEAH RIGHT.......... one of these days something is gona nyam dat fool fool bwoy deh!
who sent him to go farce up in the animals space? typical farce White bwoy feel say him badda than every creature on the face o the earth.
The arrogance of him.
Well, not a croc that nyamed him .............LOL.............. but him get nyam nevertheless.

I thought his shows were educational and I learned a lot from watching him. Dedicated conservationist and greeny. I liked the fellow. Ahh well...
The manner of his death comes as no suprise and I kinda lost respect for him when he brought his baby near a crocodile. That's when he begun to stop being educational and merely become a daredevil type of presented more interested in making things exciting or fun. Reckless.
His early TV work was important though and I'll try to remember that instead of the later stuff.

Well I just read somewhere that it is almost unheard of for stingrays to attack humans.....so you're right.
I can only imagine Steve was doing some extremely irritating sh*t down there to piss that creature off....this was his forte.

Death
On 4 September 2006, Irwin was fatally pierced in the chest by a stingray off the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia while filming a segment for his daughter Bindi Irwin's underwater documentary called Deadly Sea Creatures [12]. The BBC reported that this was only the second known fatality in Australian history from a stingray attack.[13]
Shortly after 11:00 a.m. local time (01:00 UTC), Irwin was filming in the Low Isles, Queensland near Port Douglas, north of Cairns, Queensland, Australia, where he was stung either through his heart [14] or through the left side of his chest[15] and suffered cardiac arrest.[16] After he was stung, his crew called for medical help and the Queensland Rescue Helicopter responded, taking him to Cairns Base Hospital.[17] However, Irwin was pronounced dead at noon.[18] The Queensland Police Service notified his family and released a statement for the media concerning the event.

that I imagined that he would go out Scarface stylee in a death wrestle with 15 crocs. What a weird way for him to go, talk about kismet!
He was entertaining and never cruel to the animals, I am saddened by his death.
RIP and condolences to his wife & kids.

He must of been holding the stringray to the camera underwater probably shaking it about and it stung him through the chest.
Shame, but the best and most entertaining tend to kop it first.
I'm just glad that his kids and wife have more than enough video footage to remember him by.

I think Cash is referring to the BN policy of only welcoming conversation about black people, period, regardless of whether we care to discuss non-Africans or not.
Maybe as a direct consequence, some people have felt in the past it was an invitiation to have an open season on the non-African in question, in turn disrespecting the deceased.
However the policy has relaxed somewhat recently since the issue has been raised a few times i suspect.
What i like most about this guy was his pure enthausiam towards his role. Truley inspiring.
Im fascinated by enthausiam(sad yes i know) but on many occasions it can be the single reason as to why some succeed ahead of those with more natural talent.
As an example Kevin Keegan was one player that always sticks out in my mind for some reason. Wasnt gifted with the best natural skills but his energy through his enthuasiam was huge. Went on to become European Player of the year 'Twice' which hasnt been even closely emulated since by a British player.
RIP Croc Dundee.

I surprised by how amny peeps watched his show. I happen to stumble on it and although I didnt watch it on a regs, I caught it whe I could. Always imagined he would go out like that( by that I mean being animal attacked)

BRISBANE, Australia -- Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.
Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called "Ocean's Deadliest" when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous barb on their tails, his friend and colleague John Stainton said.
"He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time.
Crew members aboard the boat, Croc One, called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed the boat to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter. Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead when they arrived a short time later, Stainton said.
Irwin was famous for his enthusiasm for wildlife and his catchword "Crikey!" in his television program "Crocodile Hunter." First broadcast in Australia in 1992, the program was picked up by the Discovery network, catapulting Irwin to international celebrity.
He rode his image into a feature film, 2002's "The Crocodile Hunters: Collision Course" and developed the wildlife park that his parents opened, Australia Zoo, into a major tourist attraction.
"The world has lost a great wildlife icon, a passionate conservationist and one of the proudest dads on the planet," Stainton told reporters in Cairns. "He died doing what he loved best and left this world in a happy and peaceful state of mind. He would have said, 'Crocs Rule!'"
Prime Minister John Howard, who hand-picked Irwin to attend a gala barbecue to honor President Bush when he visited in 2003, said he was "shocked and distressed at Steve Irwin's sudden, untimely and freakish death."
"It's a huge loss to Australia," Howard told reporters

Thanks Jett it's not quite "rifles rapid rattle" but it's all mine, maybe now I can apply for my dream job as a sub-editor for the Scum.
