I remember back in the day trying to get through to some girls was a mission..believe. This conversation reminded me of those certain types. The 'What can you do for me' girls we used to call them. Nightmoves was full of them. lol
Hope things have changed.
A fictitious conversation between two black women.
Karen- “So how’s it going Diedra?�
Diedra- “Just great Karen. My job is going well, I close on my house in two days and except for the lack of good black men in this world, all is well.�
Karen- “What do you mean lack of good black men?�
Diedra- “You know what I mean. Most are either in jail, unemployed, on drugs, got babies all over the place they’re not taking care of, unintelligent or gay. I think I might start dating some of these white guys who I notice have their eye on me�
Karen- "Weren't you just ranting the other day about black men with white women?"
Diedra- "Yeah but there's no shortage of good black women for the brothers to choose from. Can't say the same about the other way around though."
Karen- “Come on now. I know it’s hard to find a good man out there but I know that there is a good black man out there for you if you really want one. What about the ones Shante and I have tried to hook you up with? What about David for instance? He’s a nice hard working guy who can take care of his own.�
Diedra- “Karen be for real. I’m a high level executive at an investment firm and he’s an electrician. He’s a nice guy and all but I’ve worked too hard and too long to settle for a man who isn’t on my financial or educational level. A man working in a uniform with his name on it just isn’t my thing�
Karen- “That’s ridiculous. Not only does he make good money, If you put a suit on the guy, you wouldn’t know the difference.�
Diedra- “But the difference is still there.�
Karen- “What was wrong with Eric, the staff accountant who’s been asking you out for the longest?�
Diedra- “He’s only starting out at $30,000 per year. No way I’m dating a man who makes less than I do. I can do bad by myself.�
Karen- “Okay then, what about Paul? He’s a stockbroker.�
Diedra- “That short little guy? He’s only 5 foot 7 for crying out loud!�
Karen- “But you’re only 5 foot 2 yourself!�
Diedra- “I have my standards Karen. I’m not compromising them for anybody.�
Karen- “Jamal is six foot 1. What was wrong with him?�
Diedra- “Jamal can’t dance and he’s way too white acting. He listens to The Carpenters for crying out loud.�
Karen- “He just has eclectic tastes in music, that’s all. The Carpenters aren’t my thing either but I wouldn’t reject a good man just because of that. Besides, what would you expect if you went with a white guy?�
Diedra- “He’s white. I’m supposed to expect that.�
Karen- "I suppose that Marvin, who's 6'4, makes good money and is working on his masters degree is beneath you too huh?"
Diedra- "Not really. He's going to have to get rid of that 1995 Honda Civic before I'm seen with him though. Surely he can afford a better car than that."
Karen- "I've asked him about that myself but according to him, it's paid for, which means he's saving on car notes, he takes good care of it, it's reliable transportation, the gas mileage is great and the insurance is cheap. That makes sense to me."
Diedra- "Then maybe he can get some schoolteacher or cashier to ride in it with him. I've worked too hard for what I've got to settle for less than the best in any man."
Karen- “So it’s like that. You say you can’t find a good black man yet you rejected one good man because he’s blue collar, another one because he makes less money, another one because he’s too short, even though he’s still taller than you, another because he was too ‘white’ acting and yet another because of the car he drives?�
Diedra- “Yeah. Isn’t the black male shortage pitiful?�
Karen- “(((Shaking head))) Yeah Diedra. Pitiful.�
BTW, Karen has a man.

Never heard or participated in conversation that shallow in my life.
Having said that it would be nice to just meet a few you could have decent,meaningful conversation with,never mind all those other random requirements.

Actually, that convo sounds like a sketch done by two men doing a parody two women. It reminds me of Jim Davidson doing one his infamous (and quite pathetic) sketches of a black man in conversation with....a white man usually......totally unrealistic and lacking any real understanding of the subject being parodied.....lol

| totally unrealistic but has a bit of truth in it. common stop retend guys. we got this problem as blks and its there. some blks will not even date another blk cuss of acsent and shoes. post like these stir up trouble though. lol.

That’s what I was thinking when I first read that hypothetical convo. But in all honesty some women are materialistically orientated. Women in the majority are draw to the man who is powerful or has the fastest car or the biggest house..ect. this condition prevents many women from making the obviously good choice, and also prevents most of them to see the good qualities in a man…hence why a lot of women get hurt in relationships.
Now if the women is religious she knows from the get go that in order to have a solid foundation for her family she must find the man with the best heart. His heart is the window to his soul and if she can find a man with the good clean heart then she has found a man that can not only raise her children, but also mass-produce intelligence. Other family members might be inspired to do the same, and the spread goes from husband & wife to local community and further. Materialism is a western concept that they have unfortunately thrust upon us this concept. And not only black women follow this but black men follow this ideology too.
I have convo with old black men when I can about the old days, and how things use to run. They tell me that back in the 1960’s black women would sacrifice every ounce of energy they had in protecting their kids from negativity from European society. Black women were strong back then, and they would take a lot of sh!t from the system so that their kids can have a better future and rise form this miserable state of exists. But today the black women have abandon her fabric for something called “ female independence� and what else. Western societies constant bombardment on black men has never stopped, but they have take way the paranoia of black women for us. Before you say oh look at them N****rs over there it’s their problem they brought this climate of self-destruction on us. Remember on thing that as black people we should blame the climate and not the individual person for their condition. Because at the end of the day are you going to help that person to begin the process of becoming aware of his self. if not then don’t contribute to the already large pile of negativity he’s carrying.
