My parents are both black therefore so am i, but when i hear people talking about beautiful black women : i hear names like halle berry, alicia keys, vanessa williams and i'm like wtf? I thoug these women were biracial ,maybe socially ,curturally they' re black , but beauty is a nature thing and by nature they are as equal black and white ,maybe more white coz on their black side lineage you'll find some white ancestors..... anyway
i love and admire them as artists and find them absolutely goergous ,i never saw a woman approaching 40 looking as good as halle does!
but i dont recognise myself in them ,so i think they shouldn't represent women like me ,plus if you take them as an exemple of black beauty its like shes black but not too much so it's ok.
there are some naturally light skinned non mixed people in africa , but people act they didnt exsist and act like a beautiful black black person has to be mixed somehow ... just dont get it

However, to entertain your thoughts, I think that these mixed race "Blacks" should be included if they see themselves as being "African" or "Black". At the same time, they should not be held as our standards of beauty for blackness. It would only mean that our minds are still colonized by European standards.
