What's up everybody!...This board is BACK!! That's cool.

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I'm a fan or hmm..I USED to be a fan of Sanaa Lathan. I was looking forward to see her latest movie. I know what the movie is about and the movie is directed by two black women, so it will be interesting...BUT WTF is wrong with Sanaa??

This is from an interview she did a few weeks ago..and I DON'T agree with her and she seems to have some issues. If she wants to date IR, then just do it and don't blame black men and act like "There are no good black men out there".

(I'm going to try to find the whole interview) What do y'all think about this??

S. Lathan:  Yeah, like when Brian [Simon Baker] asks Kenya, 'Have you ever dated a white man?' And she replies, 'I prefer black men,' he asked if she was prejudiced, and she said 'no, it's not a prejudice, it's a preference.' And it really is a prejudice and he called her on it.

WHAT??? What's wrong with having a preferenceconfused3

AP: Do you think interracial dating is on the rise for black women, particularly black professional women?

S. Lathan: I think that has to be, it has to happen, if we don't want to be alone. Because you know the inspiration for this movie was this Newsweek article that came out a couple of years ago that talks about 42.4 percent of black women in America aren't married. Black women are shooting up the corporate ladder way faster than our black male counterparts. And (black men) are either dating outside their race, in jail or dying. And so if you want to have a family, you want to be married, you have to look at other options.

DAMN..We are either dying, in Jail or with women of other racesconfused2....she forgot about the DL thing.niceone.gif.....so, it seems like she means, there are no "good black men" out there, huh?

Like I said, I haven't seen this movie and I haven't read the entire interview, so I really don't know what to think....but have any of y'all seen this movie??

Welcome back.

Some one posted the interview last week but I think that thread has been dumped down the tiolet for obvious reasons.

Check out the rottentomatoes forum; someone wrote a expose slamming the premise of the film.
