The thought and self-discipline of figuring out and doing sensible things with money is not FUN it's boring.

I can see it in the way a lot of Black men play chess. They would rather move fast and impulsively than methodically and win even when they aren't in a hurry to go anywhere. I think you need to look at childhood environment and psychological programming. This is a cultural loop of generational self sabotage.
