I was begining to wonder what happend to MF as I havent really heard about her in the buisness for a lil while now...was starting to miss the round n brown ya dig?

Actually BP..I'm not trying to 'save' anyone..but I realise my questioning of the status quo of degrading behaviour will make some feel uncomfortable.. Isn't it interesting that Europeans moved away from this type of degredation of their culture decades ago..and We are embracing it like its the way to go...why?

Excuse me?? "Europeans moved away from this type.....",exhibit A,B+C,have you seen The Sun,The Daily Star and The Sport lately??,somewhere every morning in this great land of ours some fat,sweaty,neanderthal hog is having a "Thomas the Tank" over some young womans picture.
And as far as the beauty pageants go,they may not have swimsuit in the high profile ones like Miss World and Universe but they still do it in the 2nd division ones.And even in the high profile ones the contestants are mangling their bodies with plastic surgery to compensate for lack of swimsuit category,stupid rubber dingy lips and bouncy castle breasts to satnd out in the evening gown segment-which is essentially the same thing when you see the gowns they wear.
Anyway I viewed the first link and enjoyed it thoroughly those women are great looking and more to the point I find an event like that 100 times less degrading than say Americas Top Model or shows of this ilk.
As a woman anything which does not celebrate a European aesthetic of beauty is cool with me,thoses woman were all shapes and sizes"the red beans and rice certainly didnt miss them" but all of them were varying degrees of fitness and none of them are suffering under the tyranny of a Gay White Male aesthetic and for this alone I applaud THUNDEROUSLY!!

Okay, I get your point. Yes it can be very sad to only be able "appreciate" women one way, but that's not my goal.
I was simply giving the people what they wanted , for good or ill...just kidding
On a more serious note, this is the first time I have ever posted something like this, so I haven't been able to "diversify my portfolio" (depicted women in clothes or without for example, although the latter is strickly forbidden) so to say. If I ever post something concerning the "outer" (a la apperance) of women I'll try to post something different...
I hope I didn't insult anybody cause that wasn't my intention...

There are many African men who objectify African females; can only see them as "things" made for their pleasure and basically nothing else.
The Internet is a big and varied place. Do we have to have images of our women parading around like that in the Village?
As some may request a gay forum here at Blacknet, I ask, what kind of Village do we really want?
Well for one, as a Man, who's drawn and loss blood over females in my family after been they were accosted or assaulted by boys or men who see women solely as objects they can do whatever they feel like with; I don't want to be associated with constructions designed to promote backward ideas relating to our women.
African women, having to parade themselves, usually to find an economic advantage denied them through been born African in a racist state - not because its something they dreamed of doing or themselves are comfortable with.
I'm not saying men shouldn't "be men" i.e., men will discuss, communicate with each other, differently from say, their communications with women but men have a responsibility to destroy things that can bring us harm as a people.
Kunjufu has already said in this thread that we should try and not disrespect ourselves.
How do we show respect for ourselves? Blacknet is probably the largest African Forum in Europe - look at how we were attacked only a few months ago by our enemies, leaving us without this resource. Its importance and profile then must be noted.
I say that such images disrespect us through them been functions of a racist system that has objectified not only our women but us as a people - and this thread represents a massive contradiction.
Those who wish to counter this position, feel free to do so.
What kind of village do we want, I feel, is central to any serious argument.

Well the pics you posted those women are being sold, two no one is naked in those clips and for three I do not feel that one can/should only appreciate the female form completely covered up-if it is tasteful. I wear what a lot of those women were wearing on a beach, and I won't stand for anybody telling me I cannot wear a bikini.
I really do think those pics you posted were extreme K. I can see why some people will disagree with what I have said above and to them it may seem like a meat market. Unusually for me I didnt get a sense of queasyness or ill-feeling about the clips. I thought the women (most of them) looked great. They obviously work hard, eat well and look good for it.
I do not see an inch of desperation on their faces or in their eyes, that says I need to be doing this, or I dont want to be here like the usual 'girly' pics that get posted on BN or the pics you have just posted.

Actually Gazelle; yes it is that DEEP...and whilst I'm not going to remove the thread...I'm in the mood to argue this one today... You know this exactly the type of thing that two posters specifically berated me on, on this and others forum notably Ligali...
And to be honest I cannot in all honersty say that they were wrong, you and others say its OK, its harmless and somehow its great to see the fuller female form...
My issue is not that I don't appreciate the beauty of these women, or that I don't like looking at women..far from it.. But as Breadfruit as so kindly pointed out..this is possibly THE biggest African(black) forum in Europe..and how to we utilise it... To post pictures of women in scanty panty to ogle at?
Whilst i can appreciate your points of view, I'm saying that this feels very uncomfortable, it doesn't feel right and I don't see how this can be justified just because the orgamisers is BLACK, just because the women on show are BLACK...wrong is wrong

BB: sorry but this is not about what the women 'look like' it is the principle of parading our people in front of an audience autioning them... and yes i do see an absolute correlation..
How is it natural to parade women in swim wear INDOORS in for the specific pleasure of men... How were the winners chosen?
1, because of the intellectual attributes..
2. because they demostrated some fantastic skill
3. Because they had the most revealing swimsuit and wore it with attitude.

Well, if folks think that BN is all about scantily clad women, then something is seriously wrong. It is a light hearted thread, no one is being sold and as BlackBeauty kindly pointed out, those ladies do not have the look of desperation exhibited by those in your pictures. You cannot seriously compare the two. If you disagree for your own personal reasons, that's fine, but if the majority of the forum members do not, then as a moderator, you just make sure that this thread stays in the realms of good taste. And democracy will have prevailed. How many women do you see dressed like that when you go to the beach? I do, so does that mean that I have become an object for the thousands of men there? I do not think so some how, my ego is not that big.

I can't get worked up about this thread at all,sorry.
I know lets tie ourselves up in knots and bring on an aneurysm because these woman have decided to "shake what their Mamas gave them".
All women should be dressed in a sackcloth and veil with a hat of nettles to protect their modesty.
Let me ask you something,do you tink Women in Burka's never get raped,or ogled??
I've always thought there was something slightly perverse about only revealing ones eyes,after all they are the windows to the soul and tell me a lot more about a person than say if I got a look at one of their ass cheeks!!

These women were not skinning out their private parts to the point where you were on intimate terms with their internal organs on stage,they were beautiful and the men and WOMEN in the audience were celebrating their fine forms.
Should all the various tribeswomen in Africa wear full length sheepskin coats now? because we find this display of flesh so abhorrent.
Obviously if these kinds of threads were the only thing being submitted in the Mens Forum people may be within their rights to be vexed because it would not be balanced and would smack of obsession,but I dont believe this is the case and I dont believe the mods would allow it to happen.

Army gal's outfit was bad still. Now really and truly whats the big fuss about? At the end of the day you go to a beach u see some of these girls wearing same kinda outfits a lie? Do u moan about it? I think not! You go abroad to somewhere like Jamaica and gals are wearing dem tings on road, do u tell the woman to cover up or do u stand there and watch her with ur jaw hang down to the floor? There is nothing disrespectful about watching these tings, it's the people that get up there and show themselves in that light who are disrespecting themselves, but they are grown ass women not likkle pickneys. I keep telling people don't concern urself with the actions of an adult if it is not affecting u. Geez
