OK. MsScurvy, we all shouldnt be antagonising each other but since you brought it on this way, lets set the record straight, once and for all.

oi me mon Slealth Black,
I would love to say that I have dated a few men from Nigeria and my experience have been the same with most men, positive and negative. The one Nigeria guy i fell deeping in love with wants to move here to be with me in the US, but I'm moving to Brazil and doesn't want to move there. I'm part Jamaican and I was raised in Spainsh Town by my Grandmother and Fater, when I was 13 I was to the US to stay with my mother to get a better education and to get away from having to marry at a early age. My father was a great father to me, but a horrible husband to my mother. From the stories my mother told me about my father and Jamaican men, I promised myself never to date or marry one.
Me growing up as a kid I was pretty privileged and my family was very arrogant. Now, I'm not saying all Jamaicans all like this, but most of the ones I know and especially the men are very arrogant and they don't have to have anything.
I did go back on my promise about dating them, and realize that I do prefer Nigerian men to Jamaican men. They are not as demanding and they are more romantic then Jamaican men.
This is only from my experience with both. Jamaican men act like they own you and like they are you father or something.
But my favorite men to be with are African Brazilian men, not all but some are so loving and sweet and will to love you right!
I'm very surprised at all the division over there in the UK among our folks! With all the beautiful Black men over there from all over the world, mon, I would have a mon for every day of the week. Because I just love me BLACK MEN especially if he treats me like the Queen I am! Mon I would go to war with him side by side to fight for our people!

U people make me laugh. Have u counted the amount of universities there are in dis country? Have u counted all the people in a university? Do u know all the people in ur class? So what the f**k u talking about there are no jamaican men? U get me them statistics then come back and chat sense.
If a man comes from one area, does it mean he has to attend uni in that area? Or does he travel further away cos he thinks the uni further away is better? Have u ever thought that they may not want to attend ur uni cos it's not offering them what they want? Think about that at the same time ur finding me the statistics to the above questions.
For the people that are condeming "yardies" don't stereotype, cos I can say that africans are the biggest scammers on this earth, they try give themselves english names like peter when u know it's something like babatunde, falsify their papers so they can stay in the country, bleach their skin, should I go on?

now girl we don't want to go to that level, but i feel and hear u, 4real i do, when i hear sfricans make sterotypical comments and views regarding my people it hurts because i just think they hate us or they jealous of us. (u get me), and sometimes it does make you really angry especially when they start preching about how well they are educated, but correct me if am wrong- CARIBBEAN GIRLS ARE AT THE TOP OF THE LEUAGE TABLES, AND THATS ABOVE ALL RACES ACROSS THE BOARD, THOUGH THE MALES ARE CATCHING UP, bUT NOT AT A QUICKER PACE - HENCE THIS TOPIC.
However i am quite sick of this african and caribbean divide, it's quite pointless really.
but when africans start dissin jamaicans i have to argue my case as many africans live in london and dont know too hoots about the other jamaican communites up and down the country, and what there achieving. 4real
SO stop sterotyping all jamaican people as unachieveing yardies cause were not, like i said the men has some catching up to do but there getting there, hopefully.

I'm a young Nigerian woman living in london. I often recieve comments from westindian people stating that I don't look 'african'! If I quiz them as to why they say this, usually they will say it's beacuse of my long natural hair (so called 'good' hair) and pointed nose, and based on these features some of these people have even asked if I'm 'mixed'?
I find this very annoying as most of these people expect me to take this as some sort of compliment. It appears that many of our fellow westindian brothers and sisters find it hard to believe that Africans are aesthetically multifaceted and look just as diverse as any other cultural group.
I have also found that many westindian people are quick to inform anyone who will listen that they are 'mixed' with chinese, spanish, white etc! It could be argued that this is because they want to express pride in their ethnic origin. This may be true in some cases but in most cases it is obvious that it is another embodiment of the light skin/dark skin, good hair/bad hair syndrome that is an ever prevalent cancer in the black diaspora.
Anyone one out there got any thoughts on this?

| I am from Southern africa and of a multi racial backgrounnd doing research in social sciences, to those people going on about lack of educated Jamaicans. You are wrong most of the black educated population in the U.K are Jamaican and Afro Caribbean women are the only race in the U.K who earn more than both White men and women. Those Africans in Universities most of them seem to come straight from Africa hence they are fee paying or they are newly arrived Africans and from proffessional backgrounds. But now the fact that most of Africans just as West indians coming here are from lower stock this sh*t about Africans being in University than West Indians does not apply any morel. It is all perceptions and stereotypes and also it depends where you live in the United Kingdom. As jamaicans are fairly widespread up and down the country compared to say Nigerians and Ghanaians who favour certain areas of Londres

| Actually these people who big up Africa here they are the same ones who try so hard not to be African at all when they go back to visit their granny's in a small thatched hut and they are sleeping on a mat on the floor. How sad is that i still have to meet a very proud frican me. Leave jamaicans alone they were invited to come here you African people came here on your own.
