At first I wasn't going to post a new topic because I figured why bother because the "haters" are just going to ignore my post, not because any of books are worth reading but because of the fact that I'm diverse and I do post interesting books on this site. But I figured puh-leeze I refuse to let anyone steal my joy. If people are jealous that's just their problem not mine.
Anyway the book I want to put people on to is called Sherazade. I don't know why but I just have this knack for picking out books. I'm also really into books that deal with other people's culture. I'm only on page 20 but when I read the synopsis I knew that this was my kind of book and I know some of you (well most of you) will probably roll your eyes but for some reason whenever I look at the name of the book and the girl on the cover I think of Sade. Anyway I'll leave you with a synopsis. Also Sherazade was also made into a film in the 1960's. I believe it was in French. If I can get my hands on it, I would really like to see it. I think it would be interesting.
Sherazade is seventeen, Algerian, and a run-away in Paris. Although she has no morals, no scruples, no politics, no apparent emotional depth and little education, Sherazade remains curiously unattached but innocent in the city's underworld of drop-outs, political activists and junkies.
Sherazade is haunted by her Algerian past; she searches for her true identity in Arab books but is caught between worlds - Africa and Europe, her parents' and her own, colony and capital...
Leïla Sebbar was born in Algeria to a French mother and an Algerian father, both teachers until Independence. She studied in Paris and has lived there for the last twenty-five years. She is now a leading writer on Algerian feminist themes. .

well maybe if you stopped making stupid posts about picking out books because the covers reminded you of has-been B-List crooners people might be more inclined to take you seriously.

First of all you f**kin roach, Sade isn't a B-list crooner.
Secondly, you f**kin roach, I'm already taken seriously, which is why many of you low-grade roaches piggy-back off the things that I post (just ask Free and the rest of these idiots.) What do you think it actually worries me about whether or not you losers on here actually take me seriously??? You gots to be joking, no wait...YOU ARE THE JOKE!!! LOL.
I knew there was a reason I hardly come up on here anymore. LOL.
