Has anyone noticed that in most bookstores afro studies are usually in the same section as gay and lesbians studies and both happen to be way in the back of the store very near the fiction
Or Am I reading to much into it?
Also I have noticed that Most bookstores only keep on hand the watered down Afro studies books but this is not the case for any other races books no mater how controversial bookstores carry them in triplicate.
Evan Lafarge can see the hypocrisy.

Try to find a black owned bookshop in **looks at his location** Ohio. Are there many black folk there? If not try to find one in a big town nearby. Its best not to rely on big chains to do our work for us. I used to do that, and moan when the white owned bookshops didnt quite have what I wanted.
Realised I was looking at the problem the wrong way.

I feel what you are saying DM but warren has no Black Bookstores so I usually go to Cleveland Ohio 45 min. away and sad to say, buying Black anything is very expensive but I do it anyway. when A black opens a business over hear the insurance is so high that it automatically sky rockets the cost of the goods reason given is that the
Neighborhood is a high risk, where if a Arab comes and opens a business in the same community thy will get 10 years tax free after the 10years a relative takes over the store and the original owner goes home.

My local WHSmiths is in an area which would be decribed as predominantly black. However the selection in the black writing section is pathetic. I used to get frustrated when week after week I visited the section to find that 99% of the books belonged to the romance genre.Others were self help books, yes, the black womans guide to gold digging or something like that.  .
I decided to ask a sales assistant why they had decided to stock only romance. I expected to receive a response such as 'well, thats what sells' or 'this is based on research and feedback from customers etc' only to receive the response 'thats how it is'.
Useless, I should have expected it really. After leaving feedback comments nothing has changed.
Luckily a woman has newly opened a black owned book store nearby. I was tired of waiting for Amazon to deliver and would rather go to a store select what I wanted and read the book asap. Is that too much to ask?

AAM: I don’t mean to sound conspiratorial but I do believe that, the more serious the subject matter the more of a threat the book is to the white race take the book Isis Papers
The Isis Papers and creator of the Cress-Welsing theory analyzing the nature of white supremacy…
the book it offers dammed good insight into white thinking and white supremacy , this I think, is a true threat to the white race otherwise the book would be on every book shelf in every library and book store just like the history of the KKK or books that tell of the annihilation of the American Indian.
Face to Face by Rose H. Finkenstaedt, even though the righter is white it is still a threat to white society therefore try and find Face to Face at your local Book store.
The best that you can do is order these books, my question is then, if you can order them then why don’t they just get stocked like the watered down books?
If you can have a good selection of Gay Books, X-rated Books and Tapes, White supremacy Books; fiction out the yin yang then is it to much to ask for Good Black Books!
The thing is that there are those that want us to believe and relate to the black woman’s guide to gold digging and yes some of the folks are Black

African owned bookshop (and toys) in the middle of Brixton market desperate for the money you are giving white people ... just a thought ...
