Bele,

Your post gives me a chance to do a little practice of the languages I have learned/still learning.

Spanish

1) Como te llamas?

2) De Donde Eres?

3) Llame mi( I forget how you write it in the command form. I just know that "to call"l is Llamar)

I took Spanish almost a year and a half ago. I took two quarters of French. To be honest, I like taking foreign languages in general, but I like Spanish much more than French. Spanish is a diverse language and I just don't mean because of how many countries speak it. It's a language that is for anybody. It's not a reserved language, like French. it's colorful, the history is great adn honestly, Spnish in comparisdon to other languages is the most easiest language that you can learn. Don't get me wrong I like learning French, but as I said, French is far more  harder to learn. T

The problem that I have with French is that it isn't how it looks. With Spanish if you look at it and if you think it's pronounced that way 95 percent of the time it is that way. With French it is the opposite. You have to do a lot of connecting of words. French , to me, is to me a reserved rich like language that doesnt apply to anybody , though we all know that all French/french speaking people are not rich and snoddy. To some degree, I get a little bored with it. I think it is great that you are taking Spanish because, in the states( are you from the states or live in it) The Latino population is on a rise and just incase you want to understand what your Latino brother/sister are telling you, learning Spanish is very useful in situations like this.

I've always been a language addict since childhood. I learned a litlle German, learned some Spanish in the Seventh grade. Just recently, I , by accident learned a little Arabic, some Portuguese and oddly, a little Wolof( the Senegalese other language besides French)from a Senegalese friend of mine. Whether it's French or Wolof, both would be helpful if I ever go to Senegal. I certainly would like to go there). My boyfriend is from Mali. It would also ne helful if I went there. I would also like to go to Cape Verde( grief!) he's also of Cape Verdean descent . Maybe Portuguese or Criolou( Creole and African mixed language) would be helpful as well. Another friend of mine wondered that with my love of foreign languages maybe there could be some calling in me somewhere dealing with that. I don't know, but it seems so ironic.

J'aime beaucoup les langues etrangeres. J'aime le francais, mais j'adore espagnol parce que il est une facil langue comprendre.

Me gusta lenguas. Me gusta la frances ,pero me gusta espanol mas por que el es mas lengua facil comprender.

I'm just practicing. I just said or attempt to say that I like Foreign languages and how I like Sapnish more than French because it's easier to  understand. I'm not sure about having the right articles--you know feminine/masculine( i've never got that at all in both languages) and tenses. I know some but I'm not 100 percent . Of course there are the accents and I'm having a hard time palcing them on my post.

Adios/ A bientot!

Whad up CeeCee,

Here in the states, spanish will be no1 spoken language in the decades to come, so it's economical and cultural benifits for me to study.

You are right French is pronounced differently than is written, which makes harder for people like us to study.  I speak Somali, which is as spanish is pronounced as you see it.  "Haa" = yes, and you just say it as it's written.

My father speakes fluently, Somali, English, Swahil, Italian and Russian, so I have long way to go to complete my endeavors.

moi parle petit frances.

Moi, je ne parle pas Allemagne.

j'adore manger;).

@bele

yeah I am somali.

I've taken french since elemantary school so it's a little shaky, and I got too lazy to learn though I always wanted to. A spanish freind of mine said he would teach me spanish if I took it in class with him but I declined the offer as I ddin't see spanish as a useful language. he taught me a couble words,

why do some people only wanna learn insults when they are trying to learn a new language is something I've always wondered. maybe want to be able to defend themselves in a verbal assualt. The best way to learn a language is to speak to native speakers or possibly visit the country. French, spanish, english are all similar and I've been told once you master either french or spanish the other becomes relatively simple.
