I shop there, its cool for disposable fun fashion. But I dont think anyone who shop there expects the clothes to last.

I also shop at Peacocks which is even better than Primark or Primani as some people have started calling it.;)

The only way you can get away with wearing cheap clothing is to have an expensive handbag and expensive shoes, otherwise your look will reek of chav..never mind ghetto.

ROTFL!

Well you know Vixen everyone has different finances so if thats all they can afford, thats all they can afford, yagetme??:) Best not to take the piss and let them get on with it.

Also if you are young which I suspect you are and some of the Lewish-ites you mentioned you can get away with wearing budget clothes.

When you are early thirties like me you have to tart up the cheap tat with expensive accessories otherwise you'll look proper ruff, lol.

I am Queen of the 5 pound t-shirt with 200 pound boots.:)

Yeah I save up for quality stuff too,but I also like the cheap stuff in Primark and Peacocks.

So I dont care if people know I only paid a fiver for a top,for me its more important to invest in good shoes, handbags and coats,i'm not really bothered too much about the other stuff.:)

You and me both jett! People are schocked when I say I've spent upwards of £100 on footwear etc but my justification is simple. I spend half my life in primark so i'm entitled to a damn treat! Womens fashion changes soooo quickly, its pointless spending nuff on cirtain things when you wond even be wearing it in a few months time.Funnily enough, i decided i needed some nice new shoes for work and got a lovely pair from office for £54.99. I wore them once before the leather on the little f**kers split :X.I sent them back to head office and the b**tards refused to refund them. Yet, i've bought cute little pumps and even boots from Primark and they're goin strong long after i done worn them all 100 times over. So that makes me question the quality about a LOT of things these days let alone primark!

Dang!

Three floors of Primark? Id like to visit that shop, didnt know they were opening one on Oxford St,that place will be hella busy with all the rabid fashionistas in there on their lunch breaks, lol.

Shoes I cant mess about with,i'm very particular, yeah ive seen some nice"tribute"styles, but whilst i'm not at all a designer whore,im reeeeeeeeeeaaaaal particular about the quality of leather in my handbags and shoes,so I cant budget shop for those.

Yeah Primark has definately stepped up its game in the last few year, they've got a great design team in and there are some seriously cute things in there ....even the shoe styles are cute, however they are not the quality I require, but I do admire  that they make high fashion more accessible for ordinary folk.

My shoes and bags are expensive but dont get me wrong im not gwaanin like Rockerfeller, these things are never bought on a whim and are a considered purchase, things which I do have to save or tighten my belt for.......but God they are so worth it.lol:)

I don't really do Primark, but my sister like some of you mentioned does the cheap shirt thing with expensive shoes/bags etc, which is great IMO.

It is not about the label or what you wear, it is more important how you wear it.

Truer words........

By the way NEVER go to Primark on a Friday or Saturday as the shop just resembles a jumble sale.

i love primark for certain things you  know you probably wouldnt want to keep for long and most people with style can avoid the 'cheap' look with some decent coordination and nice accessories.

have you ever noticed those chavy types in their designer gear that most likely cost a fortune but there's just something about the way they carry themselves thats just 'rough'?

So do you think its about if you got style or not.

I know someone who always buys Primark. She has a few designer things like a prada handbag etc but you can see its worn out from about 5 years ago.

I saw an old school friend yesterday whilst i was with her and as my old friend walked off she whispered 'whose your pigeon friend'

vixen- not sure if you can see this pic but it's Mariah Carey, she has all the money in the world but to me there's just something cheap about her. In the old days when she had less control over her career i thought she looked well groomed and 'wholesome' but since she's taken control of her career and can make her own style decisions i think she looks a mess!

in manchester a few years ago all the chavs (we call them scallies) were wearing Rockports- those shoes that cost over a £100 a pair -but they would wear them with their tracksuits and the socks would be pulled up over the bottom of the trousers.  It got to the point wear clubbing promotion flyers would say no jeans, no trainers, no Rockports!

The primark in birmingham is massive! I shop there when i need some holiday clothes. Their swimwear and nightwear are ok, also they have nice jackets too. BUT the que's are off-putting. Sometimes i go in there find something i want, look at the size of the que then think 'nah i'm not spending 30mins in the que'. Actually saying that the people on the tills are quick.

Well i understand that you can have all the money in the world but if you aint got style then well you still look a mess and its true some people can wear a plastic bag and still look good.

But to me Primark is ghetto and i would never wear something outta there. Why would i wear an outfit which cost 15pound i aint that broke.

so would you buy something that was exactly the same elsewhere for triple the price just cus it was not from primark?

I hear what you say but i think too many people worry to much about name brands. I was like that when i was young but as you get older your priorities change e.g mortgage, kids, car and you cant spend vast amounts of money on clothes just cus the name. As long as something looks good i dont mind where it comes from (within reason).  i would not buy a whole outfit from primark, but as someone else said its how you carry the clothes that count. Mariah carey is a good example of how expensive clothes can look cheap
