Don't use razors !

Use clippers or even better one of those beard cutters.

Sleep well, don't stress, drink lots of water, fruits, veg, all that stuff.

Yep greymas spot on.

Go get a beard trimmer they about £20-25 form argos or index, I only go to shave once a week when I go to the barbers but if you still wanna use blades theres plenty of stuff out there to stop the bumps just ask.

Also get your wife/girlfriend to check for ingrowing hairs and pluck them as they cause bumps too.

the best advice i can give you is to stop shaving completly. start waxing your face. it might be a bit painfull at first but the skin will much smoother and won't grow back as fast.

@Obal18- I think that is very unfair. She might have a husband who uses those stuff she had mentioned. So you may be wrong. But at first glance, i was thinking along the same line with you, but I believe it is possible to know about these stuffs depending on how close you are with your man.

woman shave other parts of their bodies, and as someone who used to get in growing hairs under her pits before she discovered the wonders of waxing i would have to agree with aaliyah, however i do think it would be a bit extreme for a guy wax his face, that nixon bump control worked for me pits as but it stung like hell.

Some people, expecially black people are more likely to get ingrowing hairs then others. life just ain't fair:X

Man I remember I couldn't wait to have facial hair, but nowadays its the shaving that is just annoying. Especially razor bumps, I only ever used razor one time 3 years ago, and it was the cleanest shave I have ever had, but couple of days later I payed for it with razor bumps.

Nowadays I just used the little clipper, although I don't get bumps anymore, in return the shaving hasn't be as good as using razor.

Now I am hearing of some new cream that you can use instead or razor.

not tried the cream, I'm sure its OK though, cos my barber stocks it, and he's a good guy... I use one of those "cut throat" razor's like my dad taught me. Its good cos you don't have to do it too often, but not all that close.

The best thing that has worked for me and reduces the bumps is to shave every 3days if your skins is not that sensitive

I'd disagree! Some races of men, such as asians don't often have beards or signifigant accumulation of facial hair. Indeed black men(on average) have less facial hair than white men. I didn't start growing facial hair until my early 20's. To date, I can only muster a goatee, not much at all along the jaw-line.

Yuh know its interesting that as InI read all of these replies, no one made the suggestion of simply "not shaving". InI am a Rastafari (rastafarian for those who use babylon terms) and InI livity teaches InI that as African Men, InI must keep the dreadlocks and the beard. Like the Lion of the Junlge has his maine, so too does the Black Man has his idenity.

InI usually get comments about my beard, especially as a youth, from family members, friends, co-workers, often asking I to shave it, but InI am an individual seen, and not subject to babylon oppression that tries to "beautify" the black men. Shaving has its roots in slavery, as african men where shaved by their slave masters so as to make them look cleaner and more attractive to slave buyers and yet we've through ignorance of what beauty is, have maintained this same tradition. Its like joining the army or going the prison, first thing they do is to SHAVE you, head and face, as if to make you submissive to their western ideoloy and their babylon system.

Our african sistas are the same who look in magizines and see Airbrushed photos of Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Halle Berry and then STRESS themselves to imperfection to mimic what Hollywood and American Media has determined as beauty.

I say to the blackmon, be PROUD idren and wear up the I crown (Dreadlocks) as well as the I facial hair (Beard) fully, InI are the KINGS of our Homes, and Like LION InI maine is a symbol of royalty and domiance, Like Samson in the bible who didnt shave, like Jonh the Baptist who didnt shave, Like Yeshuah Christos (jesus christ) who didnt shave, like many Nazarites.

Leviticus 21:5 "They shall not make bladness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in the flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD". The way the blackman hair grows comes to represent the symbol of the Lion of Judah, and the rebellion of the system of "proper way to wear hair".

Ezekiel 44:20 "Neither shall they shave their heads"

when i was younger, my papaa showed me how to shave because he said one day i will be shaving my husband :) so its vital to know how and wat to do.

i know everyone is different in terms of skin types and tolerance or sensitivity... sometimes its best to keep it simple.. keep it old school, steam the face to open up the pores, use a gentle facial cleanser to clean the face first, and the apply shaving cream, shave, and steam face again for about 10mins, this prevents ingrown hairs that causes bumps and itching, and then use a gentle moisturiser.

steaming the face is simple, just pour hot water into a bowl and place face in the steam, or put a face towel in hot water and put it over the face.

i used the same technique on my ex partner who had problems with ingrown hairs and bumps, i shaved him 2 times a week, with the old school razors.. and his skin did improve... and we used nivea men's products for the cleansing.

the bottom line is steaming the face and cleansing before and after.

hope this helps.

If yall find a cure...let me know.

Something that works for now is I will take a hot towel and let it sit on my face for a few seconds.....and then I'll put the shaving cream on (with alchol) and let it see for awhile.

The shave

That works for me............for now.  My boys says the Mac 3 battery operated razor IS THE TRUTH!

I'll see
